 Delegating duties is one of my responsibilities and monitoring the activities be carried
out after delegation was the technical bit of it. At one time I delegated the duty to two
ladies working as an attaché in one of the project's site and later noticed that they were
fighting and I had to stop them( task)
 To stop them, and keep them working, I called them to the office; I acted as the mediator
between the two. I listened to each other’s case and noticed that they had a long time
grudge. I used soft interpersonal skills and created a polite mood to the situation where
each party agreed their mistakes and ended the conflict. I swapped them with other
workers instead after the session( action)
 The manager found us in the office and later requested to know what was wrong, after the
explanation he was glad and recommended me for that act.( result)
Commitment to health, safety, environment and quality policies and procedures
I am very much concerned and committed to matters of health, safety, the environment
and everything to do with policy and procedures governing civil engineering and project
management. My concern on these aspects has enabled me efficiently achieve and meet the set
standards when per taking any construction project since health and safety and environment
sustenance comes first.
 As a civil engineer, I am exposed to a lot of risks. Some of these risks include accidents
that may occur in construction sites, a sickness that may result due to hazardous
emissions and also our environment is exposed to lots of pollution.(situation)
 As a civil engineer and a manager to a project are entitled to ensuring that I prevent any
health risks and any environmental unfriendly situation that may result in the course of

 At one time, while working at Kuwait, I was manning a construction project involving
the construction of an 8-floor store building. The contractor to this project was not
willing to meet all the procedures and policies related to the safety of workers and the
environment. Within the budget, he had not included the cost of protective gears for the
workers. I had to chip and call for all procedures be met and adhered to and that each
person’s safety be guaranteed.(action)
