HSC Assignment: Reflecting on Professional Principles and Values

This report analyzes the application of reflective practice in health and social care, focusing on demonstrating professional principles and values. The author utilizes Gibbs' reflective model and SWOT analysis to evaluate strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats across various practice themes, including law, ethics, professional behavior, health and safety, diversity, and promoting well-being. The report describes the Gibbs model's stages (description, feeling, analysis, valuation, conclusion, and action plan) and how SWOT analysis aids in identifying areas for improvement. The author reviews how reflective practice is applied in health, care, and support service environments, emphasizing the importance of self-awareness and personal development. P2 Describing the model and tools
used for reflection
 For reflection, Gibbs model is used which describe five stage such that,
description, feeling, analysis, valuation, conclusion and action plan that helps to
provide clear and precise description that helps the reflective practitioner to
have a sense of experience and also examine their practices as well.
 Therefore, the model of reflection also provide the challenges which are faced
by the practitioner and also analyse the ways through which it can be
overcome.
 On the other side, SWOT analysis is also used as a reflection model in which
researcher describe the strength , weaknesses, opportunity and threat for the
particular themes which are describe in the class. Therefore, this tool assist to
analyse loopholes that may be minimize by applying different actions.

In order to describe reflection, it is beneficial to use Gibbs model as a reflection
model because it helps to provide insight views and the same is also applied in
health and social care professionals as well.
That is why, I uses the same as it helps to clearly state the description and analysis
or examine the practice in order to analyses the ways through which improvement
can be done.

 There is a need to evaluate own strength and weaknesses using reflection model
because it enhances the personal development by leading to self awareness.
Such that if the focus of reflection is only related to patients care then it assist
the researcher to expand and develop knowledge related to clinical skills only.

Conclusion
 By summing up above, it has been concluded that Gibbs model and SWOT
analysis are the model that helps to determine the actual insight views of the
health care practitioners.
 Further, the presentation also concluded that using these methods, I can easily
describe my own experience in better way.
