Self Introduction
 Basic : My name is Kate. I am thinking to make a better position for myself as a leader of
my team. I will make it easy for my subordinates to follow the Leadership and
development plan.
 Educational Background: I have done masters in business management. I have done
graduation in business administration. I have also studied subjects of taxation, business
management, business planning, These are helpful in case of business management plan.
 The next 5 years: As I am working with the last semester of the college. In the upcoming
5 years, I am thinking to join a company of Mr. Karl. I can see myself at the top level of
leadership. I will manage leadership and development plan for business industry. After 5
years, everyone can see me as important personality of y organization.
 Desired Role: The industry may have a great market position in market. I am thinking to
join on my desired position i.e. leadership level of business. I have such patience,
capabilities that must be there in performing the leadership task. I can easily motivate
people for taking new risks and accepting new opportunities. I also have qualities of great
communication sense and ethics. I have enough confidence on my side that I can handle
tasks of management.
 Experience: I have three years experience as a team leader in John’s Company. I started
there as a normal worker and becomes team leader in second year. Now I am applying for
the new job with this experience level.

Business activities: The business I am going to join faces some issues. These issues are required
to analysis for getting solution in business. These issues may be internal or external to the
business. It requires to handle issue of external environment and internal environment. These

factors make it difficult for business to have growth (Chaffney & Ellis-Chadwick, 2012, pp. 16-
18). The persons responsible for these issues are the one who are managing the business. I have
analyzed situation of current business environment. The factors that affect my business are
described and explained in the following paragraphs.
Some challenges are there which can be a problem in success of our business. One of these
challenges are, consumer power. Nowadays, consumers have great power to buy products at low
price. They force the organizations to sell the products of good quality at low rate. It helps them
to access good quality product at profit. The power of suppliers also affects my cloth business.
Suppliers forces to sell their products at high rates. It results in affecting my cloth business. I also
have to face situation of competitive environment. There are many persons in similar business. It
affects the level of company reputation. New entry to new markets also has to go through some
problems. The existing firms decides to not to enter new firms into business. All these sources
are internal challenges of organization. At least we don’t have the factor that we have not tried
our best to enter into market (Jeffs, 2008, pp. 69-72). The issues only cover internal factors,
external factors are described in the following discussion.
Macro elements affecting business organization
There are some factors that affect business organization. These elements need to be addresses.
PESTDN statement also includes some factors that are also art of PESTDN analysis. The
analysis has definition of Political, Economic, social, technological, Demographic and Natural.

intelligence. It helps me in performing tasks in short time period. It helps in performing
organizational plan of leadership and development that is required for achievement of different
objectives of organization. The leadership and development plan makes employees or team
members responsible for their tasks. They are required to perform functions mentioned in plan
made by me. It is reasonable for them to make questions or require on functions if they don’t
understand it well. But it becomes important to follow the procedure of leadership plan. As I see

myself in top position in the next five years, I am required to perform these functions with
loyalty. It will be a great source for achievement of my desired position. The factors that are
described above affect the industry or organization. Effect of these factors on industry also
makes such effect on personal position of people. Leadership and development plan of individual
have great effect that leads to success in terms of accessing the goals of organization. All people
need to follow strategies of leadership plan of the business. The L & D plan can be successful
only if the person leading this plan will give it his 100% efforts. The efforts must be towards
achieving goals of industry or L & D plan.
Goals
Goals can be determined as the value to be achieved by performing some functions. These are
the overall and common values to be assessed by all persons of an industry. While I am going to
prepare leadership and development plan, this plan also consider to follow some functions which
consists of activities related to achieve common goals of organization (Spillane, 2012, pp. 44-
47). These goals of L & D plan consists of following goals:
Collaboration
It is one of the main aim of the leadership and development plan. As I am taking the
responsibility of this L & D Plan, it’s my aim to collaborate different goals of all persons
available in the organization. All the persons of organization may have different goals of their
own. My aim is to make these goals a single goal. It is a short term goal of my L & D Plan
(Hersey, 2008, pp. 67-69).
Listening to problems
Being a leader of L & D plan, it is important to listen all the problems of employees of the
organization. It is a long term goal of my organization (Heifetz, 2007, pp. 33-37). The employees
may face issues at achieving goals by performing some functions. I am responsible to take a look

on the problems faced by employees. It is important to resolve these problems and make it easy
for the employees of organization to achieve goals.
Workplace facilities
A leader is responsible for providing best facilities to its employees. Employees want best
working condition which can help them in achieving the goals of organization. It is responsibility
of management to provide best facilities. The leader must have the ability to understand
requirements of employees. The requirements must be met with providing the required facilities
for the achievements of the goals (Hemphill, 2013, pp. 55-56).
Own Reputation
Being a leader of the employees, I also want to take a position where I can get appreciation of
great and inspiring leader. It is a long term objective of organization (Vroom). I will give my
best to company but my ultimate goal is to achieve appreciation of leadership. I want to be the
best leader in the company. This position must be stayed over the period till the retirement from
work.
Inspiring employees
The next goal of L & D plan is to inspire employee for achieving the goals f organization. A
leader is a person who can easily inspire employees. He is responsible for achieving the required
results. He can motivate and inspire employees for adopting new technologies to be organized in
company (Wormer, 2007, pp. 81-83)

Ethics and Professional Values
Ethics is a term referred as manner of behaving with others. It means to behave ethically and
doing the things that is ethical. Whereas values determine the point that what is right or what is
wrong. It determines the values and behavior of organization staff. Professional values can be

formed within employees by motivating them (Noddings, 2014, pp. 123-125). The seniors of
organization can easily help employees to behave ethical in industry. If seniors don’t behave
ethically in organization, the subordinates also will not be ethical or professional. It is ultimate
responsibility of superiors to create situation of ethical responsibility in the organization. There
must be a policy of providing some punishment to a person who will not be ethical in business
time (Peters, 2013, pp. 178-188).
I am ethical and example of my ethics are honesty, respect for others, better communication way,
fairness, loyalty, concern for others, fairness, law abiding and such factors. I have all these
factors in my personality. I have studied from a professional university, so it was required to me
to be ethical there too, the university also managed seminars for us. It helps me to get all these
ethics. We talk each other professionally in our college. Our seniors and professors were also
ethical. They behave ethically with us and also expected the same. This part of my life formed
ethical behavior and professional values in me. It helps me in all the way to my journey. After
that, I joined a job. There was ethical behavior campaigns managed for employees. They
informed us that what behavior is acceptable to the company and what is not to be accepted.
They inform us what ethical behavior is. In the job timing, my seniors were also ethical with us. I
judged their way of talking and adopted all the values.
My beliefs are that the ethics must be followed for achieving the required results. Beliefs are
different than ethics. It refers to what someone thing right and other think it wrong. Beliefs vary
with person to person. But ethics remains same for everyone in the organization (Whitbeck,
2010, pp. 48-53). My beliefs may not be matched with others. But it is my perspective that I am
right with my beliefs. An organization may force someone to be ethical but it can’t force
someone to change their beliefs. These are related to own thinking of a person (Hiebert, 2011,
pp. 14-15).

For planning leadership and development plan, the person must have some skills. These skills
include decision making skills, organizing skills, communication way, critical thinking skills or
analytic skills. The management must analyze the rank of the person going to be leader
(Tittemore, 51-53, pp. 23-26). I have managed my ranks related to these skills. The ranks are

On doing the analysis of the factor, I found all these five results as top results. Creative thinking
is a great skill. I am good at creative thinking, For example, I can think like what I can add in
business service without any cost but having profit. In my L & D plan, creative thinking will
help to make analysis of services to a taken for working. Decision making skills help to take the
acceptable decision. I take corrective decision within a short time period. For example, I can take
decision on what to do at a specific situation. Planning skills help to make planning f business
functions. I am a good planner. I plan the things well. For example, we can think about what to
plan in the starting. We can plan where to invest and where not. This is another term of skills
required. I can solve battles or conflicts of employees within a short time. It will help me in L &
D planning of business. It will change the factors of management and sufficient reputation must
be achieved by this.
