INTRODUCTION
Understanding self and others refers to the skills and abilities which are necessarily
required to perform roles and responsibilities at workplace in an organisation. Therefore this
project is all about highlighting the various skills which need to improve in order to deal with
various circumstances occurred due to complex situation arises in working environment. An
individual can develop his confidence level and self awareness through using different
approaches (Reeve, 2014). The project also covers the reflective journal which is more
helpful in developing the learning of an individual as well as considered as an indispensable
tool in enhancing the skills and attributes. The SWOT analysis is also done in order to
identify and analyse the strength and weaknesses.
TASK 1
Reflective journal:
This journal is useful for the student who needs to attain effective skills and attributes
in achieving growth and success in their career. It also helps in enhancing their self-
understanding on the basis of observation of particular aspects in order to improve learning to
deal with different situations. So that they can able to achieve desired goals and target within
pre-determined time period. However there are also various skills an individual need to attain
in order to manage and control business activities in an effective and efficient manner.
Therefore it is important for an employee to focus on improving their skills so as to perform
well in an organisation. Therefore an employee need to first identify their core skills and
attributes in order to manage the allotted work in an effective manner after considering the
relevant facts and figures (Barrow, 2015).
Pro-forma of Negotiation skills
An individual must be a good listener so that he can able to receive right direction and
guidance without any miss-understandings. Thus, it is necessarily required to have good
communication skills which bring interest and attention of a listener. Communication is
only an effective method of representing himself in front of employees as well as an
organisation. Along with this, it also helps in transferring accurate information and data
without any disruption. Apart from this, communication is also help in removing miss-
understanding and creates mutual understanding among supervisors and subordinates.
I am a good listener and also able to communicate accurate information and data in such a
quality manner that will help company in using such information for their own purposes.
In addition to this, one major quality I have is proper command over speaking as well as
writing skills which is helpful in transferring actual information and data to the right
person within prescribed time period. Therefore, message should be accurate and
meaningful which can easily understand by others.
The main weaknesses of mine are that I don’t know how to express emotional content in
written manner so that the interest and behaviour of employees are easily influence. Thus I
put my full efforts in improving my written skills so as to transfer expressive content in
written manner in an understanding manner otherwise it will create a major risk for me.

Pro-forma of team working skill
Team working skills is useful for bringing all skilled and knowledgeable individual
all together so as to achieve desired targeted within given time frame. Thus to build a team it
is important to have a good leader along with their skilled team members. Thus, Leadership
quality is also require in guiding and directing team members to perform in right direction
so as to achieve desired goals and objectives within given time frame. This will help
company in achieving strong position in market place for longer duration. A pioneer need to
be create strong communication channel between top authority and lower level. Thus, an
individual becomes a good leader only when he has an ability and skills for motivating their
team members to achieve their own personal targets by increasing their knowledge and
skills.
Pioneers are the individuals who inspire their team members to perform in an effective way.
In order to enhance the authority aptitude, I can utilize some administration hypothesis
which helps in achieving desired target through paying attention in a suitable way. Thus
they can able to do all the things in an appropriate manner. Leaders refers to a individual
who bring skilled members together to contribute combine efforts in achieving common
goals and find out new and economical ways to resolve problems or issues arises while
operating business activities (Samaras, 2010). Therefore combining efforts of team mates
and giving them right direction and guidance so that they can perform without facing any
difficulties. It is the responsibility of pioneer to establish a healthy environment which
motivates workers to perform well. In to gain competitive advantages the leader must
required forecasting the situations and accordingly setting up plans and policies to execute
business operations in an effective and efficient manner. Therefore it can be said that the
having skills of working in a team will ensure success of getting positive outcomes in future.
Belbin's Team roles:
This model comprises four steps which are as follows:
In the first step, if the group has consisting more members then it should divide into
teams but if they have less members then it is good to avoid splitting it up.
In the second step, asking each team to draw a circle and make division equally into
various sections and after that enter team members names in the segments that
correspond to their top two roles.
In the third step, Discussion should be made among workers in order to find out the
strength and weaknesses of each and every team mates.
In the fourth steps, team mates are motivated to come up with new ideas and share
with the other member in order to perform in more effective manner.
I have such skills and great initiative aptitudes through which I can support my partners by
providing them proper guidance and direction in order to bring efficiency in their work. In

order to complete any work, I should prefer utilizing advanced and innovative technologies
through which I can able to achieve pre-determined goals within given time frame.
Having such skills also help in building my professional career through which I can sustain
in competitive field for longer period of time. It guides me to deal with all work through
developing new and unique ideas and thoughts so that I can successfully completed given
target without limited period of time. Leadership skills shows the inner skills of mine
through which I can able to lead and direct team in an effective manner by bringing all
members together and creates mutual understanding among between them. In addition to
this, attaining such skills helps me in finding new ways of resolving any issues and
motivates others to deal with various business risks.
Performa of focus and attention skills
As situation in which we survive s uncertain due to which May problems and issues
occurs which restrict an individual to perform in an effective and efficient manner. Thus it is
necessarily required for an individual to continuous focus and attention of such issues due to
which the chances of overcoming situations of uncertainty will be more. This skill helps in
identifying the causes of problems first which influences the success of an organisation and
accordingly implements useful methods to resolve it in an appropriate manner. Therefore
they can easily achieve desired goals and objectives within time frame (Showry and Manas,
2011).
It is important to focus and differentiate the problems on the basis of their affect on
business procedures and accordingly implement suitable strategy to achieve the compelling
outcomes. According to this, if any problems or issue occurred during any event then I
should required to consider their impacts and doing legitimate arranging ad formulate an
effective planning before implementing programmes in order to achieve personal as well as
professional goals. The advancement of this aptitude is compulsory as it is necessarily
applicable in planning process and also in improving the abilities.
The Blake Mouton Managerial Grid
Open/self area: It includes the information related to individual’s attitudes,
behaviours, emotions, skills etc. Which need to be identified by an individual himself as well
as others.
Blind self: This includes the information of an individual which is identified by other
but he is the only person who is unaware of it. This means the others may expect something
from you. This will happen due to poor communication which needs to be improved.
Hidden area or facade: This includes the information of an individual which is
identified by him but others are unaware of it. This will affect the relationship of a leader and
its team members due to which proper communication is essentially required.
Unknown area: This includes the information of an individual which are unaware by
him as well as others. It can remove due to an effective communication through which they

As environment we exist in is uncertain and complex in nature due to which the problems
and barriers may occurred at anytime and anywhere thus if I indulge in such complex
situations where I face any issue while completing allotted task then it will not scared. In
fact, I will put my whole efforts in finding an effective ways of resolving such issues and
barriers in an effective manner. I will concentrate on adopting useful techniques which help
in eradicating the issue and on the basis of that, I can achieve my personal as well as
professional goals within limited period of time. Along with this, problem solving skills is
helping in maintaining coordination between emergence of any problems and clashes. In
addition to this, it also considered as an indispensable tool in the development of
personality of an individual. Therefore work is executed in an effective and remarkable
way towards achieving desired target as soon as possible.
Pro-forma of Time management skills
It is essentially required in every individual if they want to achieve growth and
success in their professional career. In order to achieve bet possible result, an individual
must required to set time limit for completing given task so that he can feel pressure of
completing task by giving more efforts. Thus it is necessarily required for an individual to
manage time for the different work on the basis of their importance and outcomes. So that
he can achieve success and growth in limited period of time (Walumbwa and Hartnell,
2011).
As my main target is to achieve growth and success as soon as possible therefore I always
preferred to completed work on time due to which the chances of occurring problems and
issues also minimises. Through framing time for each work, I can able to deal with
complex situations occurred due to uncertainty. Therefore Time management skills is
essentially required if anyone want to bring efficiency in their work and achieve best
possible outcomes in near future.
Improvised Management-Low results/ Low People: It is considered as most
ineffective tool for motivating members to get work done in given time frame. With a low
regard in satisfying systems and low interest in establishing motivation among members will
bring dissatisfaction and demotivation among workers.
Produce-or-Perish Management-High Results/Low People: In involves the
autocratic manager or leaser who takes strict actions without collecting suggestions or
opinions from others which will bring demotivation among workers. This approach mainly
focuses on achieving desired target anyhow without considering the needs and demands of
team mates.

Middle-of-the-road management-Medium Results/ Medium People: This approach
is focuses on balancing results and people but this strategy is not that much effective as they
may fail to inspire others for higher performance and also fails to meets people’ needs fully.
Country club management-High People/Low results: This approach mainly focuses
on considering needs and demands of the team members and put their maximum efforts in
making them happy and feels satisfied (Mascle, 2013).
Summary and action plan
In order to develop my skills and abilities, I need to focus on grabbing opportunities
which are accessible for me so that I can attain strong position at a market place. The
reflective journal helps me in finding effective and legitimate arrangements in order to
achieve given target within given time frame. Along with this it also help me in improving
my performance through executing all given work in an effective and efficient manner. Apart
from this, SWOT Analyses should also require to done in order to identify the actual skills
and shortcomings. Furthermore any intelligent diary is:
Strengths:
As specified by the administration, the colleagues need to do the best possible development
and providing an inspiration which helps in achieving desired goals and objectives. It also
helps in advancing the adaptability so that they can deal with any complex situation on the
basis of circumstances. Therefore I have to focus on sharpening my tone level while
communicating with others so that it increases interest level of listener. Maintaining fluency
over my language through having proper command on it which is more helpful in
establishing mutual understanding among others. They also need to focus on the issues which
affect team goals through motivating team members by providing right direction in achieving
common target (Petrovici and Dobrescu, 2014).
In addition to this, one other main strength is that I have an ability to react in a
complex situation through paying more attention to risk on regular basis. Therefore I always
contribute my maximum efforts in handling problems arise due to complex situations at
workplace.
Weaknesses:
The main shortcoming of mine is that sometimes I may fail in confronting large
number of problems due to lack of time of handling such issues and problems. Investing lots
of time in collecting feedbacks and suggestions for team members, I cannot have enough time
to make effective plans and polices to tackle emergence situations. Sometimes the team
members are not willing to do extra work in case of emergencies which increases workload
of mine. Sometimes the critical data will get miss because of high workload which may bring
negative impact in my professional career as well. The absence of composing ability is just
because of poor communication. Due to lack of experience the few issues won’t tackled in an
effective manner which brings demotivation among members.

Therefore it has been concluded from the above that if an individual identify their key
skills and attributes and contribute his maximum effort in developing their weaknesses so as
to bring positive result then he can easily achieve its personal as well as professional target as
soon as possible. Inventiveness is an important thing that each and every individual ought to
have and innovativeness can help in getting new ideas and thoughts. In order to bring positive
result, it is necessarily required for a team leader to bring team members all together and
motivate them to bring new and innovative ideas with a motive of grabbing attention of large
number of customer as well as for inspiring their team mates.
