Answer to Question 2.1
The recognition of the moral decision that is important in the particular scenario can be
based upon the decision that faces a moral conflict. The particular decision in the scenario that
involves the moral conflict is that whether or not Harshal should rates John’s report highly
because of the fact that this would enable him to be shortlisted for any upcoming positions in the
unit. Harshal essentially faces this ethical dilemma.
The conflict between the two essential values is professional development and honesty
(Shapiro and Stefkovich 2016).
Answer to Question 2.2
The moral values or principles that are involved in the particular situation is that the
moral value of faithfulness and the moral value of pursuing excellence. Harshal if listens to John
and rates his report accordingly then his professional career may receive the much required
boost. However, this is unethical on the moral grounds (Shapiro and Stefkovich 2016).
Answer to Question 2.3
The alternatives that are available to Harshal are as follows:
Go Decision - Harshal should speak up to John and reinstate the fact that the interviews
in regards to him and Freda has to be conducted
No Go Decision - Harshal can give up the offer the direct offer from Alice, the head of
the IT section and climb up the ladder normally
Answer to Question 2.4
There are no benefits, for choosing the solution, that meets up with the ethical standards.
If Harshal rejects the offer, there is high chance that he will be in the bad books of the
management. He may face more extreme measures if he stands up to John and states that their
interviews are mandatory.

has been chosen is Case Study 4. The outlines of the case have been such that the finance
director appears to have incorrect information. Further investigations should also be made into
the fact as to whether it was a potential or had been done willingly. Moreover, the amount of
disclosure that should be available to the finance manager should also be defined (Icaew.com
2018).
