Assessment of the role of the manager in program learning, design and evaluation
The role of a manager in the development, implementation and program learning carries
immense importance. According to, Trullen et al., (2016) the manager of such a program
methodology works under the supervision of the director of programs and thus has to work
closely with the team members in order to manage, design, create and deliver a mix of
professional development opportunities by using appropriate instructional technologies in order
to gain success. Some of the responsibilities of the managers includes the likes of the;
Collaboration with the different kinds of team members to set out strategic goals and
determine the measurable outcomes
Designing, creating and delivering a cadre of blended PD options
Configuration, support and management of the content on appropriate systems
Role the manager plays in each stage of the development of program
As mentioned earlier, the project manager has to have a clear understanding of the five
different stages of team development in a project. The better the manager understands, the better
he can make the team members work more effectively as a team sooner rather than later. In the
forming stage, the members have to get clarity from the manager on their jobs. Secondly in the
storming stage, the manager will manage his team in an effective manner to make them work
hard for ideas (Trullen et al., 2016). The norming stage will test the capability of the team
members and the performing and adjourning stage are the last stages where the manager will
lead the team to perform and then stop the project.

According to, Kerzner & Kerzner, (2017) the managers nowadays allocate the resources
in a SMART manner to save time and money and reduce their wastage. The managers allocate
resources by the use of modern tools and avoid habits of over-allocation.
