The change requirement is very necessary in the project of Ford as it is re-defining the objectives
of the Project Management Office in the Ford Motor Company’s Electrical/Electronic Systems
Engineering operation. Also the change requirement is essential as the project tends to create
incorrect assumption regarding the scope, roles and responsibilities of the Project Management
Office due to lack of experience amongst the existing staffs of the company in context to
working in the Project Management Office. Further, the Project Management Office in the Ford
Motor Co. Electrical/Electronic Systems Engineering operation also requires change as a
significant amount of time is consumed in getting the whole of Ford Motor Co. aligned with its
values. Also, Project Management Office in the Ford Motor Co. Electrical/Electronic Systems
Engineering operation needs change so that the whole operations of the company can be aligned
with effective method for execution of projects which in turn will help to improve the existing
decrease in efficiency of their project management approach. As stated by Project Management
Institute (2017) in order to ensure eventual acceptance of the project management office in the
Ford Motor Co, they need to completely rely on their stakeholder’s board and also need to
largely depend on constant communication process. As such Ford Motor Co. needed change
regarding the objectives of their Project Management Office so that Ford Motor Co.
Electrical/Electronic Systems Engineering operation becomes effective.
According to Burke (2013) the change requirements introduces alterations in to the project
management plan, process group and life cycle of the project as in order to implement the
required changes of the project, Ford needs to partially change their project management plan.
This in turn tends to create changes in the process group of the project and also tends to create
changes in the life cycle of project. This change in process group and life cycle will make Ford
Motor Co. reverse back to the second stage of project life cycle which is the planning stage. In
the planning stage of the project, the solution will be re-developed in detailed manner and also
the planning will need to be done according to the necessary steps so as to meet the project
objectives. The planning stage will help in modification of the objectives of the Project
Management Office so that it can be easily accepted in the organization. As stated by Project
Management Institute (2013a) the required change will also need modifications in the process

group of the company as in order to make modifications regarding the scope and objectives of
project management office, the process group of the organization needs to be properly re-
designed and redefined. This in turn will help in increasing the effectiveness of the project
management plan of the company. As stated by Project Management Institute (2013b) the
required changes will also necessitate modifications in the existing process group of Ford Motor
Co., as in order to make modifications regarding the project management office, the composition
of the office will need to undergo complete overhauling. Also the project management office will
need new reporting structures to be established which will help in initiating changes in the
process group of the company.
