Part A – Schedule Management
There are various changes that may occur in a project during its timeline. The changes in the
project scope usually lead to the extension of the project schedule. However, it depends on
numerous factors, such as nature of the change requested, effort needed to implement the
change, priority of the change, and likewise. If there is lesser time and effort needed in the
implementation of the change, then the project schedule may remain unaltered. However, in
the case of major changes, extension of the schedule is needed. Impact analysis of the change
is done in advance to determine such impacts on the schedule, costs, and resources (Heldman,

The Project Manager shall formally communicate such variances to the project stakeholders.
There shall be change request approval form obtained from the requestor and the project
sponsor. Only the change requests approved by the sponsor shall be entertained. The formal
change request document shall be prepared covering the change request summary, results of
the change impact analysis, and details of the change. The sharing of the document shall be
done with the project stakeholders using the SharePoint location. The information notification
must be sent through the emails. The nature of variances along with the reason behind the
same shall be explained during the weekly meetings with the stakeholders. The Project
Manager shall also be ready with the supporting documents and references to answer the
queries put forward by the stakeholders during such discussions.
