Activity log
Activity log in project management is defined as diary or a job activity log ( Austin, 2018). This means
that an activity log I s a record that shows how you spend the time in a particular project. On the same, it
shows how time is used; either how it’s misused or saved on different activities of project management.
When time is wasted during the project activities, the project manage can always work in reducing and
eliminating the wastage for an effective and efficient flow of activities (Ansah et al., 2016). Activity log

Project status report
Project status reports can be defined as updates that show how a project manager is progressing with his
project (Turner, 2016). This means the status report for a project answers the question that other
stakeholders and shareholders may be asking. These reports are prepared concisely and they contain very
high level information regarding a project. This means they don’t include all the project information but
the summary of the main points of interest in the project. Aforementioned, the project shareholders are
kept in loop of what is happening on the project.
March 24th 2020 -Construction of a warehouse in ABC school
The project status report is on track on all the activities that are done in the site of construction.
Summary of the project
The project on the construction of a warehouse in ABC school will be done using the proposed budget
and within the agreed timeline between the shareholders and the project manager. The project manager
and the project shareholders are still teaming up to ensure that the project is complete within the deadline
to forestall delays that may be experienced due to winter season (Kerzner, 2017).The maximum number
of months required to have t completed is one and half months with no increase of budget of $500,000.the
budget is being reviewed on a daily basis by the project stakeholders. The shareholders are in constant
communication with the project manager in order to have the budget followed to avoid any other
unnecessary costs before the project is completed (Eriksson, 2019).

TWO – STATUS REPORT 6
Milestone of the project 1
Planning of the project, at this stage, a need will be identified by the project manager and ways of
fulfilling that need are decided on. The solutions of the need are decided at this important stage.
Project design. This is followed after a detailed plan of the project is prepared. All the main issues
and elements for the project are identified which in many cases include the quantities needed and
required human resources.
Project financing. This will be done through looking for sponsors who may be interested to be
partners at the construction site. This will involve procurement meeting with the finance team and
deciding on all the resources that are needed.
Obtaining all the necessary legal consents. This is done before the construction starts to take
place. This is where a contractor is hired and necessary consents especially from the government
are obtained. This includes the fore and safety consent and so on. This in most cases will require
the project manager to engage even the public due to the impact that may be brought by the
project.
Project execution. This is the project intensive stage.
Milestone of the project-2
Since the last update on the construction progress, I have been checking on the remaining tasks and their
distribution to ascertain whether the project will meet the deadline and be within the budget. From the
survey that was conducted on all the activities in process of in the site, it was established that all were in
line with the budget and allocated timeline. This means that the most important thing to do was just to
ensure that they continue with the same speed for a successful completion of the project (Little, 2017).
High level overview of the key areas
Punctuality of the employees-Moving in well and no after ten minutes lateness (Maxwel. 2018).
Document Page
TWO – STATUS REPORT 7
Overall about 80% of the employees were satisfied with their work
The results of the first few phases of the project are being reviewed by the shareholders
Issues and challenges in the project
The construction of this project is a bit tight and the project manager may need to engage the
project team to work even for overtime with no additional pay for approximate four days. To
forestall this unfortunate activity, they project manager needs to mobilize every team member
working on the site to be completely active and organized so that they can pull together and be on
track a s per the project timeline that has been decided.
Funding support was a problem from the sponsors.
Risks in the project
The project manager hasn’t managed another warehouse construction in learning institution
facility.
Poorly definition of the scope of the project
The winter may start early this year meaning that the project may be delayed in completion from
the set timeline thus increasing the budget to be used.
Unknown condition of the site of construction
Theft and damage of construction tools and equipment due to poor terrain
Due to poor site condition underneath, there is increased material cost that may not have been
included in the initial budget of the project
Mitigation ways to avoid winter season still not determined and finalized
