1PROJECT EXECUTION AND CONTROL
Answer to Question 1.
Change management is considered to be an important component of project management
as it helps the project manager or any member of the higher authority to control the course of the
project and bring it to the right path. In many projects, especially in medium and large scale
projects, it is often found that scope creep occurs causing significant unwanted outputs from
project and the project to move out of scope (Letens, Verweire & De Prins, 2016). Once the
project is allowed to move out of scope for a significant amount of time, the damages cannot be
recovered and the project will be considered as incomplete and failure. Change management
ensures the project is controlled at the right time with the right measures so that it can be
executed accordingly. In order to introduce change management measures, it is important to
identify the challenges and issues that have given rise to the scope creep and other issues. Once
the challenges are identified, suitable solutions are to be developed, analyzed and implemented
accordingly.
Answer to Question 2.
There are several applicable processes for analyzing, assessing and managing changes in
a project. However, for the given project of Corwin Corporation, a specific method needed to be
followed for continuation of the relationship with the client and complete the project. Due to lack
of sufficient planning and sufficient amount of specific courses of action mentioned in the
contract signed between Corwin Corporation and Peters Company, courses of action of various
project stakeholders became much for complex and resulted in the growth of personal problems
between stakeholders (Kerzner, 2018). For initiating the implementation of change management,

Dr. Reddy took some strict steps that were not well taken by one of the stakeholders. In this case,
he needed to call team meeting and discuss with each and every personnel regarding the changes
before implementing them.
Answer to Question 3.
Tools like Microsoft Project or ProjectLibre can help to develop change management
strategies by creating project schedules. A sample change management strategy developed using
MS Project is shown in the below diagram. Additionally, task lists can be created using MS
Word or any other similar application that will help to schedule and implement change
management in the project.
