1PROJECT EXECUTION AND CONTROL
Necessity of change management in project management
Change management in a project is considered as complex process that requires proper
attention as well as involvement from the management of the organization (Lewis, Cantore &
Passmore, 2016). People from all the level of the organization should have attention to change
management in project. Managing of change is necessary to have to get a meaningful as well as a
progressive transformation in all the levels. Managing of change is also considered as an
umbrella that helps in covering all different processes that are used to prepare as well as support
all the changes in the organization in project. The changes in a project mainly ranges from
methodologies included in all stages to resources, business processes and budget allocation that
are included in project (Rosenbaum, More & Steane, 2018). Change management mainly refers
to the control process of change while working on particular project.
There are different change management that can be undertaken in a project. Those are
Individual change management, enterprise change management and organizational change
management (Stouten, Rousseau & De Cremer, 2018). Change management includes
overarching the approach that is taken in the organization for moving one desirable future to
another and includes structured approach with the collaboration of stakeholders.
Key issues that leads to change in project
The issues in the Blue Spider project were
1. The Blue Spider project proposal done by the Perks Corporation did not meet the
requirement specification of the client and that was not informed to the client. The technical
specification of the client was not satisfied in the first stage and state in the proposal unethically
that all the requirement specifications are met.

2. Selecting an inexperienced project manager for such a big project was not wright for
Perks Corporation. Change was needed to select the project manager so that project could be
completed successfully.
3. There should have been change in the documentation of the project as client was not
informed about the ongoing process of the project. There was need in change of the project plan
for successfully completing the project.
4. Also the client was not informed about the increase in project budget and testing
process was carried out in the project without informing the client. There was a need in change
request for the budget of the project so that client would be informed about the work that was
carried out in the blue spider project.
Processes to perform change request
Change management in a project in a project helps in bringing different benefits in the
project (Ali et al., 2017). The processes that are to be performed to carry out the change
management request in the project includes
1. Having proper document for the change request in the project.
2. Proper evaluation should be conducted to measure the effort of change in the project.
3. Identification as well as proper analysis of the impact of change should be stated
proper in the change management process (Hayes, 2018).
4. There should be structured way to implement the changes in project and having request
