1CHANGE MANAGEMENT
Importance of Change management
Change management includes managing change in a project for ensuring behavioral
outcome in the project. Change management include change request which is a formal proposal
for some modification in the project. Change request includes when the client of the project
includes some change in the project and that have to be incorporated in the project. Change
management is required in the project because it improves morale of the project, improves the
productivity of the work and also improves the quality of work (Cameron, & Green, 2019).
Change management helps to improve cooperation, includes collaboration and also helps to have
proper communication in the project. This project states the change control that was needed for
the Blue Spider Project and processes and techniques that were to be involved in the project to
have a successful project.
Issues that needed to be changed in Blue Spider project
1. There should have been a change in the project design of the project. The product
design that was done in the initial phase of the project to submit the proposal, was to be changed
as the product design was not satisfying the constraints of the project (Alexandrova &
Kuzmanova 2017). The requirement of the client was to develop the product that would work at
certain temperature. The design of the product was not done properly.
2. Proper communication was to be established in the project to have handled it properly.
Change in communication was needed in the project as Gary did not communicated properly
with Lord Industries. As per Lord Industries, there was no proper communication between the
project team members, the project manager and Lord Industries. Gary was so busy in doing work
by himself, he was not able to communicate with Lord Industries and that was a problem. Gary

2CHANGE MANAGEMENT
would have introduced a proper communication management strategy as a change in the project
and controlling the communication change would not have resulted in failure of the project.
3. Change in managing the resource of the project was also necessary. Resource
management was required as change management in the project to redefine the roles as well as
responsibilities of the team members included in the project (Donovan, 2018). The project
manager was also responsible to provide support to the team members and needed to provide
training to the team members so that they could have performed better.
Processes to identify change request
1. Firstly there is a request to make certain changes in the project.
2. After the change request is achieved, then change log is to be updated so that proper
change request is done.
3. The priority of the change in the project is to be determined then.
4. All the changes in the project are to be accesses on the priority basis. They are to be
implemented in the project as per their priority (Ansari, 2019).
5. The action that are to be taken for the change are to be approved or are to be rejected in
the project.

In the post of the student, the student has mentioned the phases of project planning and
about how to carry out a project development. The student has not mentioned the project change
that is stated in the project. The project change request helps to manage the change and helps to
control the change in the project and that needs to be mentioned in the initial post.
The student has also mentioned all the changes that were needed in the project. The
student has only mentioned the points that were needed to change in the project. But has not
mentioned the points in detailed. There is a lack of discussion in the initial post of the student.
Regarding the project strategies or the processes that are to be mentioned in the initial post, the
student has mentioned only some of the strategies that is not appropriate to solve the change
management in the Blue spider project. According to me, more detailed study was to be done to
complete the initial post.
Change management is an important aspect in a project and every project should include
change management so as to control the changes in the project. Project manager mainly has the
responsibility to manage the change in the project and also needs to address the changes and
make priority on the basis of the changes. The risks in the project for not carrying out change
management was also to be included in the initial post and that would help to do the part B of the
module easily. There are also no proper referencing in the initial post of the student.
