Answer the following questions.
1. Discuss what alternative communication methods and media can be applied in a project and
why they often differ depending on the nature of the project (give one example).
Considering the communication for a project, there are several alternative
communication methods that are available. The main communication method that is
applicable for a project is the sign language, gesture language and pre-recorded
message. This type of communication can be implemented for the projects but they are
really dependent on the project. One example is the short deadline project. In such of the
projects, this type of communication is inappropriate as the alternative communication
process takes a high amount of time. For the short deadline projects, this type of
communication can take a high amount of time which will lead to project delay.
2. Research some effective project-management information-systems (name at least two). Select
one and discuss how it can be applied in a project.
Some effective types of project management information systems are Microsoft Project,
Wecom, and Primavera. The Microsoft Project is one of the important project
management information system. This system can be implemented in the project for
scheduling the whole project. This means a timeline of the project can be developed
through this.
3. What methods can be used to evaluate information systems and communication processes?
In the aspect of project management, there are mainly three types of evaluation
processes for the information system evaluation which are the goal-based evaluation,
goal free evaluation and the last one is the criteria-based evaluation.
For evaluation of the communication process, there are mainly three types of
methods that are conducting a survey regarding communication, measuring the progress
of a specific work which is very much dependent on communication and assessing the
employees regarding what parts of the communication actually consumed.
