AI Summary
This report provides an in-depth analysis of a project plan designed to collect funds for isolated children. It begins by identifying the strengths of the project team, such as strong judgmental skills, individual empowerment, and risk management capabilities, while also acknowledging weaknesses like limited creativity, work delegation issues, and a tendency to criticize other team members. The report then addresses potential conflicts, particularly those arising from stakeholder relations, and proposes a compromising conflict management strategy to mitigate these issues. Furthermore, it outlines the four stages of the project control cycle: initiation, planning, execution, and closure. The report also demonstrates the use of the Schedule Performance Index (SPI) and Cost Performance Index (CPI) to assess project efficiency and cost-effectiveness. Finally, it explains the rationale behind crashing critical path activities to reduce project completion time, focusing on the importance of targeting activities with the lowest cost per unit of time. The report concludes by emphasizing the importance of team dynamics, project control, and performance metrics in achieving project success.

INTRODUCTION
Project plan refers to the documentation which helps to formulate a proper structure
regarding the different activities which helps to accomplish the aim of the project. The given
project is based on collection of fund for the children which feel isolated because they don't have
parents or fathers to take care for them. They collect fund by organizing event for building father
and children relation. It highlights the strength and weaknesses of team member with the
situation of conflict. It explains the different stages of project control and SPI & CPI method of
project plan. It also explains the reason to crash the activity of critical path.
PART 1
2. Strength of the project plan team
In the preparation of event for building strong relation between the father and children &
gathering fund for the children which live without their father or parents, I found the various
strength of my team. I found that while conducting the event the team and the participants are
full of strength and encouragement. The strength of project team are:
1. Judgemental skills: While working with the team member I found that they have the
good judgemental skill which help us to evaluate each activity with the different aspect. It
also helps to analyse the project risk with minimizing the communication gap within the
team member. I also analysed that team member are able to prioritize the work with its
importance which helps to achieve the target within the given time limit.
2. Individual empowerment: I realized that each team member is able to take his/her own
decision and never depend on the others. It helps to take the efficient decision in the
critical situation or absence of any team member. I found that each team member is
highly determined toward their work and self-motivated to complete the task with high
efficiency and effectiveness.
3. Risk management skill: As per my work experience I analysed that in every project and
activity uncertain risk is involved. While working as a team me and may team member
has to face various problems or issues. The risk management skill help us to deal with the
uncertain risk in the project and improve the work efficiency. It also minimizes the
chances of failure of project.

3. Weaknesses of the team
The weaknesses of the team in project plan are:
While working on the project as team I realise the different weaknesses of my team
member which affect the project and its efficiency. The weaknesses of team member are as
follows:
1. Creativity: I analysed that creativity of a person improve its efficiency and also required
in each task. I found that the repetitive task or work decrease the creativity of team
member and limit their thought to the particular area. To overcome the weakness of team
member we have to plan some innovative task and activity and encourage each other to
find out of the box solutions.
2. Work delegation: I analyse that each team member is self-motivated and take their own
decision but it affects the delegation of work. Delegation of work refers to assign the
duties to different team member. I realize that in critical situation the work delegation
weakness affect the performance of the project. It can be mitigated by proper
communication and interaction.
3. Criticize other team member work: I found that the team member develop the habit of
criticize the work of other which results to increase conflict in the project and delayed the
task. It reduces the efficiency of whole project and make it less effective. It can be
overcome by communicate the importance of each team member and their work and also
develop the habit of appraise the work of other team member.
4. Conflict in Project development plan and ways to mitigate conflict
During completing project and assigning roles and responsibilities, I found the area
where conflict arise. The main conflict face by me and my team member are related to the
stakeholder relation and project. I found that the relationship of different stakeholder is not too
good and it increases the conflict in the project which affect the project efficiency and
effectiveness. The conflict arise in the project reduce its importance and delayed the decisions.
The perceptions of stakeholders are different in regard to the project which prioritize the work on
the basis of high medium and low.
To overcome or resolve the conflict I use the compromising conflict management

no parents.

5. Steps of project control cycle
There are four steps of project control cycle such as initiation, planning, execution and
closure stage. The initiation stage of control cycle includes different activities such as developing
business case, identify scope and project stakeholders which have interest in the project. In
initiation stage projector identify the need, problem and opportunity of conducting project. It also
helps to determine the feasibility of the project that whether they are able to gather the fund for
the children who feel isolated or not by the event (Lock, 2017).
In planning stage following activities are included such as creating project plan,
workflow documents or maps, estimating budget for different activities with anticipating risk. In
the following project plan of collecting fund for the isolated child the plan the monthly budget by
estimating cost for the different activities such as sponsor, stationary, music, refreshments,
brochure, art supplies etc. than they prepare gantt chart to ascertain the different activities with
the project completion time.
The third stage of project control plan is execution stage in which projector executes the
plan and monitor the different risk. In the given project they prepare risk management plan and
risk matrix to identify the associated risk with the project and their frequency. They also prepare
health & safety plan, quality management plan, change management and communication plan to
ensure that the project is run in proper direction.
The last stage is project closure stage which helps to review the whole project and close
the project with the assurance that projector is able to accomplish its task.
6. Demonstration of schedule performance index and cost performance index
Schedule performance index: It is used to measure the efficiency of the project and
identify that the project is on track or not. If the schedule performance index is 1 or greater than
1 it means that project is on right track and able to meet the required goal of the project. If the
schedule performance index is below to 1 which present that project is in unfavourable condition
and not able to meet the objectives (Lucko, Su & Thompson Jr, 2018). It is the ratio of earned
value with the planned value.

Cost performance index: It is used to determine the cost efficiency of the project that
whether the project is completed in efficient cost or not. It is determined by getting the ratio of
earned value with actual cost of the project. It the CPI is greater than 1 which indicate that
project is favourable and if the CPI is less than 1 it indicates that project is unfavourable.
The CPI and SPI method help the project manager to identify the future performance of
the project when they get the similar kind of project. By using SPI project manager can
determine the performance of the project that the project is favourable or not. The CPI method
help the project manager to determine that whether the project is able to complete in given cost
or not. So, both method of project plan help the project manager to estimate future performance
by calculating their ratio with earned value.
7. Identify the reason behind crashing critical path activities
Critical path helps to identify the longest path to complete the project without slack time.
It includes bot project initiation and project end activity. The critical path activities are crashed to
minimize the time of the project completion. The activities are crashed to shorten the schedule of
the project where it possible (Bettemir & Birgönül, 2017). To crash the activity only critical path
activities are taken because they consist the activity which have the lowest cost per unit of time.
Crashing only takes critical path to crash the activity rather than the slack time because
slack time are the time which can be delayed without any impact of successor activity and it is
easy to crash the critical path activity because they cover the longest path to complete the
project. The critical path activity are crashed to deliver the project earlier, prior to the plan
project time.
CONCLUSION
It can be summarized from the study that in project plan the strength of team member
helps the projector to get success in project while weaknesses of team member increases the
chance of failure of project. It can be concluded that project control cycle steps help to monitor
and review the project and SPI & CPI helps to accomplish the project with efficiency and
effectiveness.
