According to (Joslin and Müller, 2015) a project consists of several activities
that are performed by members. The manager control and evaluate
activities through several techniques. It is important to control activities so
that project is completed on deadline. However, it helps in keeping project
on track and maintaining quality. It is necessary to control process so that
desired outcomes are attained. Furthermore, the deviations are identified
and removed in effective way. The data is gathered and analyzed to find
out how much time and cost is needed. An effective control on project will
ensure that goals are attained in deadline and quality is maintained. Along
with it, chances of failure are reduced. The risks are also determined and
mitigated.
As said by (Scott and McCann, 2018) there is high impact on outcomes if
manager is not able to control project. This is because activities in project
are interrelated with one another. Moreover, in engineering the project are
of different types. They are related to several fields.
In view of (Fewings and Henjewele, 2019) there are many process control
techniques which are useful in controlling project activity and monitoring it.
The statistical process control enables in maintaining efficiency. In that
several analysis is done to calculate data. However, there is change in
design, documentation, etc.
