PROJECT EXECUTION AND CONTROL
Part A: Discussion Post
1. Requirement of Change Management in Project Management
Change management is extremely important and significant for project management as it
helps in managing changes for ensuring that the desired behavioural results would result for
better execution of the work. The respective project manager could easily make sure that the
change management is being done smoothly and hence ensure high success in the project
outcome. One of the most basic and vital aspects of behaviour for change management in a
project is that different team members often resist change for betterment of processes (Hayes,
2018). The project manager eventually implements change after showcasing major advantages,
which could be easily accrued by involving a new process. This particular change is being
implemented within phased manner and would also adopt the new procedure. As a result, this
change management helps in lowering the chances for failure of project and also eradicates any
type of delay in the respective project work.
2. Critical Analysis and Identification of the Key Issues leading to any Necessary Changes
in the Project in the Blue Spider Case Study
There exists some of the most significant and important key issues that are eventually
leading the required changes within the project of Blue Spider. Gary Anderson joined Parks
Corporation for completing the research, undertaken by him. During recession, more than 50%

highlighted (Cameron & Green, 2019). These issues in the Blue Spider project are provided in
the following paragraphs:
i) Emphasis on R&D: The first and the most significant issue in this particular project
was emphasis on R&D. They have changed their focus to the R&D during recession and hence

movement towards change management created a major error in financial planning.
iii) No Standby Schedule: There exists no standby schedule in Parks Corporation’s

iv) Lack of Communication: Due to communication gap, the employees were not
communicated properly and hence they did not get the chance to understand the need for change
management.
v) Rescheduling the work: The respective work is being rescheduled in this project and
as a result, the Blue Spider Project faced subsequent failure.
