1PROJECT EXECUTION AND CONTROL
Part A: Module: Discussion forum
Initial post: Managing project changes
Change Management is referred to as one of the most essential project management
knowledge areas that require major focus and concern from the project development
perspectives. With the help of strategic change management plan any business organization can
achieve their objectives and goals. If the way of information management changes then the
overall vision and mission of the project owner will also change. The change management plan
must be incorporated considering the feedback gathered from the internal and external
consumers. A change management plan becomes more successful and effective if proper
continuous improvement plan is incorporated to the project. It can be said that, change
management plan helps the project team members to improve the existing schedule, scope,
communication, resources and even budget of the project. Improper change can negatively
impact the business, employees, consumers and other stakeholders also. If proper change
management strategies are followed then the project manager would be able to meet the project
objectives in a much easier way. The different change management strategies are as follows:
Careful planning: According to this strategy the project manager should identify
required changes very carefully considering the consumer’s feedback and measuring the project
status report. The companies interested to evolve their revenue structure and remain competitive
in the global market needs to design their change management plan successfully.

Propose incentives: In order to keep the project team members engaged to their roles and
responsibilities, the companies should initiate incentives programs for their employees. It is
somewhere acts as motivation for the project team members.
Redefining cultural values: The cultural values of the employees should be redefined.
The companies must incorporate continuous improvement plan to bring the changes.
Recruiting champions of changes: In most case a radical change meet high degree of
resistance that is not at all beneficial for the project success. The project managers need to
identify improvement opportunities which become hidden under broken processes. Therefore,
champions are to be recruited in this section.
Response to the post
I think that the role and importance of change management plan discussed in the forum
follows most of the change management aspects successfully but some of the perspectives re not
being followed. Different change management tools and techniques such as flowchart and
process map, culture map, stakeholder analysis, Lewin change model, Gantt chart etc are there
which mostly followed by the business organization to implement change management and
change control plan. The application of these tools and techniques and the possible profit those
can be obtained using these tools and techniques are not mentioned in this discussion. Apart
from this, what type of changes a business needs or the way through which needful changes for
an organization can be identified are not elaborated in this discussion, In addition to this, there
are some additional features such as workflow approval, audit trial, change calendar are there
which needs further analysis those are not done successful.

3PROJECT EXECUTION AND CONTROL
If it is found that one single employee is being pressurized with work burden then
accordingly responsibility should be either shifted or divided among the project team members.
Workflow, new processes, values and employee transfer are the different new structures that
should be incorporated for implementing the changes successfully. For any sort of business
situation this particular strategy is best suited. The need of shifting work responsibilities are also
not developed in this an analysis. The way of problem management are also not discussed in the
port, I think that application of change management tools, technique and identifying strategies
for implementing change management are no demonstrated in this discussion.
Today’s fast moving business environment needs to hold different change management
strategies while incorporating any changes in the organizational performance. The dynamic
business environment can successfully implement needful changes only when it follows different
change management strategies successfully. The various change management strategies that are
very important for any business success include: proposal for incentives, redefining cultural
values, exercise authority, shifting the changes for reducing the burden, recruiting champions of
the changes are not elaborated in the discussion.
