First, I would like to thank the management for providing me the opportunity to
develop such a good and practical assignment on teamwork and reflection, in this current
assignment I have gained the practical experience and the hurdles which are needed to be
faced by any project manager who is leading a team of fewer many members. I think to
manage such a team the person need to have all the leadership skills and qualities to execute
and handover the project successfully. The leadership qualities which I feel are required to be
a successful project manager are the brilliant negotiation skill with the team members and the
external stakeholders (Williams, 2015). The project manager should also be very honest in
character so that he could be a role model for the whole team and the team members would
follow him automatically, which is a very much important characteristic required to be
present in the person for being a leader.
The person who will be the leader of an IT professional in ICT project should always
have all the techniques and skills which are required to be a leader. The project manager of
ICT profession or the leader of a team group are required to manage and handle highly skilled
manpower who may be either equivalent or even higher in Rank than the project manager.
So, the job becomes very challenging to motivate such people and keep them working to
achieve the common desired goal. All the skills like a very good team worker, a person whom
everybody can trust on, a person who can listen to others, a person who never let others
down in fact always appreciate some excellent work are required to be present in the project
manager to make the project successful (Edwards, 2016).

During this exercise to develop the assignment on teamwork and Reflection I have
gained the live experience of being a leader. As a part of the assignment the roles were
supposed to be rotated for the conducting the learning cycle, this is provided by the
opportunity to become the project manager for a meeting, and in that meeting, I realised that
to become a project manager successful, one should have all the leadership skills and
personality to get success with the professional career. The leadership skills which are
required for the successful execution and completion of a project should be present in the
project manager. The project manager should be an efficient worker with full honesty and

integrity who can binds the team as a single entity and lead the team with a common goal and
vision in their mind so that everybody put their efforts towards that common goal (Kangan
Institute, 2017).
The challenge of a project manager in ICT project are to make the skilled manpower
to work according to the wish of Project Manager. For doing so the project manager is
required to have all the leadership skills and use the techniques which are being used by
leaders to achieve success. The techniques which are being used by the leaders to manage
their work or to develop a personal relationship with all the team members so that they can
rely on the decision being taken by the project manager and blindly believe and follow
him throughout the project life cycle (Mind Tools, 2018). The presence of this characteristic
in a project manager makes his job very easy and comfortable to read the whole team and
make them follow the rules and Expectations just said by the project manager to complete the
project well within time and cost.

The experience which I gained during this assignment 2, has benefited be like
anything. This assessment has provided be the practical in-depth idea regarding the technique
and skills which I may need in future to lead a team of equivalent ranked team members of
different disciplines to complete the project successfully. The skills and techniques which I
have learnt during this course or related to the leadership skills which I feel are mandatory to
be present at the manager to lead a team and make the project successful. The project
manager need to have very highly unique technique and ability to listen to the team members
so that the team members should always feel like being the part of the project (Daimler,
2016). If the project manager listens to the team member, they would feel the sense of
involvement and it will automatically impact the efficiency and effective working culture of
the team to complete the project successfully.
For any IT profession, dealing with the ICT projects always need very highly
educated team members, but to manage such group of people the project manager always
need to have the leadership skills and can use the techniques of the leader. A leader should be
a brave person who never afraid of losing his position, and never be afraid of taking hard
stands for the betterment of the team members (Treasurer, 2018). Presence of this
characteristic as a project manager can help to gain the confidence of team members on him

or her. This characteristic will automatically attract the team members like magnet, and help
