This project analyzes the impact of McDonald's on local restaurants, specifically focusing on the Wood Oven in Barking. The research employs a qualitative approach, utilizing a descriptive research design and an inductive research approach, with interpretivism as the research philosophy. Primary data was collected through questionnaires administered to managers, exploring challenges like customer satisfaction, low profitability, and issues in management such as employee recruitment and marketing. The data analysis, using thematic analysis, reveals that McDonald's entry increases competition, impacts customer loyalty, and influences factors like food taste and product prices. The study concludes with recommendations for local restaurants, including marketing research, the adoption of effective recruitment strategies, and methods for increasing customization to improve their competitive position and brand image.
