Overview of the project:
The project will implement a 3d printing technology for making a affordable 3d printer
for all level of consumers
Project description:
The printer will help to print 3d model. The model needs to be first designed using the 3d
modelling software in the computer. The printer will help to print the 3d model right from the
computer. The printer supports various printing materials and thus makes it effective for various
purposes.
Team charter
1. Purpose Statement and Team Objectives
The purpose of constructing the team is to complete the project of 3D printing. The overall goal
is to follow the rules necessary for effective team work and ensure the team effectiveness with
commitments towards individual team members and the team as a whole.
2. Strengths analysis and need for Development
In order to determine project specific and performance oriented goals, the skill sets of individual
team members has been taken into account.

Half of the team members come from manufacturing, production and R&D background.
One team member has knowledge about marketing setting and has the sense of global markets
exposure. . Another team member has knowledge about global logistics. This will be very
helpful for improving the business strategies. The team has couple members who have practical
knowledge about the fundamentals of financial management. This has made the decision making
process effective for the team members. The knowledge about financial management has been
proven to be highly valuable while dealing with issues related financial concerns regarding the
project.
Background and Experience
The combination of various cultural backgrounds has not only diversified the cultural
aspect of the team, but also helped to increase and improve knowledge the perception of team,
particularly in terms of social and cultural aspect. The expertise of the team members in various
domains and experience of working in various industries will enrich the talent resources of the
team.
Interpersonal Skills
The culture of effective team work has been maintained with expectation levels kept in
sync. There seems to be an effective combination of talent and skills where everyone will be able
to contribute equally without any notion of dominance. In order to maintain individual roles and

responsibilities for the project, it is expected that the team members will be able to show strong
interpersonal skills.
Development Needs:
Lack of Human Resources skill:
In order to complete the project the team members should have an adequate
understanding of Human Resource Management and the related techniques and principles
relevant to the topic. However no team member has expertise in the field. In order to gain
knowledge in the topic and overcome the limitation the team members will review the relevant
literature in the field and then integrate the learning with personal experience for making best
judgment.

4. Team Process Management
Team Meetings:
Each meeting will begin with a SPACER (Safety, Purpose, Agenda, Code of Conduct,
Expectations).
• Safety: creates awareness about the exits in emergency cases.
• Purpose of meeting: Identify the purpose of the meeting. Deliverables for the meeting are
agreed by the team members.
• Agenda: Identify the steps that needs to be taken and helps to define the topics that need
to be discussed.
• Code of Conduct: define the codes that need to be followed by the team member.
Team Communication:
Various means will be used for felicitating the team communication. Primarily Electronic
and phone communication will be used for communication purpose outside the team meetings.
The team members are expected to response promptly to the messages and enquiries by team
members. In case any team member is unavailable for the communication it should be
communicated in advance for avoiding issues regarding communication. It is also necessary to

inform the team about this so that the role can be assigned or distributed accordingly. In order
to store the project related documentation a project portal site will be created and all the project
documentation will be stored there. The documentation will also be stored in hard copy and those
copies will be kept in locked file cabinets for the project duration. Once the project is completed
the final project documentation containing information like the final reports, budget might be
retained in the project portal and those documentation can be retrieved from the archive section
of the project portal. The hard copy of the final report might be kept at the locked file cabinet and
it can also be accessed from there.
Previous experience of working in a team:
The previous experience of team working was mixed in nature. There was positive and
negative aspect of working in a team. The positive aspect of the team work was collaboration in
the team. All the team members were highly professional and supportive in nature. There were
competition in the team but at the same time the morality and code of ethics were also taken care
of by the individual team members, however there were often conflicts between the team
members and sometimes the issues were irrelevant. The higher authorities most of the time were
inefficient and reluctant as well to solve the personal as well as conflicts within the team which
often affected the project flow and the team working experience as well.

The important team values are:
 Care for each other: helps to make bindings between the team members (Campion ,
2015)

 Mutual trust: increases reliability within the team (Neuman & Wright , 2016)
 Morality: keeps the team trust and integrity of the team values (Barrick et al. , 2017)

Irrespective of the project goes smoothly or not, team member should be taken care of in

The interest of the stakeholders must be taken care of and it should reflect in the product

All the team members should have the honesty while dealing with various issues
regarding the project and always reveal the true factor about the issues (Gotterbarn , 2017).

Rules and Expectations:
Attendance at meetings:
It is expected that the team members will attend the meetings whenever it is necessary
and also follow the schedule of the meeting. In case any individual team member is not able to
attend the meeting the role should be taken up by another member as per the convenient

The project expects full participation from the team members. In case some team member
feels that the others are taking their job responsibilities seriously then it should be discussed in
person in one-on –one basis. However if that does not work, the issue should be brought up to
the notice of the team leader
General Courtesy and Respect
It is expected that the members will not only respect the individual job roles and the
responsibilities, the respect should be shown for the other team members and the job they are
