Introduction
The report will be illustrated into two tasks in which the main aim of this assignment is to learn a
proper data and different ways are used to deal with overseeing as well as also plan the project
management properly. Additionally, it centres in dealing systematically with the degree
components, resources, quality, cost and timetables in an inquiry. Mainly the second task will
demonstrate the required movement by a capable project manager. In the second task, the
London skills concern case has been shown which is formed newly initiative by collaborating the
inner local authority of London and also through evening standard. This will also include the
skills and abilities and the management procedure by utilizing the project life cycle as well as
also undertake the knowledge areas of the project management.

Task 1
1) Define the key characteristics of any project.
The project should need to have clear objectives and goals which make sure that the team
members have been aligned with the same purposes when working in a group. Therefore, with
the particular objectives, the project cannot forever run so it will fail in achieving the goals. Also,
several resources are there, such as human, budget for properly implement the project. There is
also one specific thing towards a project which is unique and different. For instance, the building
construction has a similar design, but still, there is a difference in the materials, locations etc.
(Browne et al., 2016). So the significant characteristics of the project should have defined life
span and objectives with the end and beginning of the project; also the involvement of different
professionals and the department is there and specific cost, performance requirements and time
must be there.
2) List and briefly explain the five (5) key stages in Project Management?
The project management is an application of techniques, tools, knowledge and skills to a huge
range of the activities to meet with specific project requirements. The five key stages in the
project management include:
 Initiation: It is the beginning stage of the project, and the main goal of this stage is to
define a project at a huge level properly. It is a case that begins usually with the business
case.
 Planning: It is the main stage for successfully managing the project and also focuses
mainly to develop the roadmap which everyone is needed to follow.
 Execution: It is a stage of a project where the deliverables are completed and developed.
In this the team is developed, a resource is properly assigned, execution of the project
management plans, assignment of a task is executed etc.
 Monitoring and controlling: It is all about for measuring the project performances and
profession as well as also ensuring that all is happening in aligning properly with a
project management plan.

 Closure: It is a stage which presents the completed project in a systematic manner. The
contractor hired the work mainly on a project which is terminated on this time.

3) What is the Purpose of Project Initiation Document (PID). List three (items) that could
be found in the PID.
The PID purpose is to record and capture the general information which is required to plan and
define the project properly. PID must be expanding upon project state and mandate of what a
project is planning and aiming in achieving the reason to meet with project aims. The three-item
which can be found in PID is:
 Document: PID bundles the documentation into the logical work reference which
collects all essential information that is needed to run and start the project.
 Composition: PID is being composed out of the collected information as well as it
includes the goals, size, risk, and limitation etc. of the project among the others (Stošić
and Milutinović 2017).

4) List the nine (9) knowledge areas in Project Management and briefly explain the
importance of any two of them.

The nine knowledge areas in project management are project integration management, time
management, scope management, quality management, cost management, commutation
management, human resource management, procurement management, and risk management.
 Project integration management: It is defined as the activities and processes which is
needed to coordinate, unify combine and define the different activity and process with the
groups of project management. It is only possible when there is good teamwork in the
project.
 Project quality management: It is defined as to satisfy the customer needs and
requirements by not containing any deficiency and defect. For this, there is a need to
develop the project prototype and then give it to end user for use it.
5) List five attributes or characteristics of a project Manager and briefly discuss or explain
the importance of any two of them.
The five characteristics or attributes if the project manager is they inspire the shared vision, good
communicator, posses the good leadership skills, integrity, and they are the good decision maker.
 Integrity: It is an important thing that the project manager must always keep in their
mind is that they take actions for setting the specific modules instead of their words.
Good management will demand the demonstration and commitment to ethical practice.
 They inspire the shared vision: The project manager is described often as having the
vision, which shows where you need to go and articulate it (Saunders, 2015). The project
manager visionary will enable the proper who are feeling that they have the real stake in a
project.
6). who is a stakeholder? Briefly explain the purpose of stakeholder analysis and why it is
important in Project Management.
A stakeholder is the people who are investing in a project as well as who is getting affected by
the project, or their inputs are impacting directly on the project outcomes. The stakeholder
analysis is the essential techniques for the identification of the stakeholder and also is beneficial
in analyzing its needs. The proper management of the stakeholder in the project management
will further help in ensuring project success and good outcomes.

Task 2
London skills concern is the young and new organization that is registered as the charity but with
the trading arm it is operated in private and public sector in order to provide the guidance and
support to the young people who are mainly seeking for the work, or returning to the education
or seeking the higher training and education. The main aim of this organization is to work and
collaborate with the local authorizes and then this local authority then required to then report to
the number of them, not in the education employment or training (NEET) to the central
government. Also, the company has an £8m budget and got support from the London well-
wishers and donors. The organization, most of the activities, is undertaken in the house by the
local council education department. The organization is newly imitative formed by the Inner
London local authority collaboration and evening standard (Venkatesh and Balani, 2016). It also
has experienced and new workforces and well known by business initiatives and models.
The report will outline an activity which is needed to implement the new initiatives successfully
and also ensuring that this can be within the budget and open on time. The first step of the
project manager is that a critical factor which makes the successful implementation of the project
is needed to be concerned. The project is considered generally to implement successfully if it
comes on the schedule, budget, set goals etc. This means that all such factors are changed, which
will lead to several factors. The report will show that the manager must implement the
information system by implementing the project management methodology towards the root of
the project success. However, the project manager should have to consider the impact and
constraints for the project completion.
Schedule
Before considering the schedule of the project, also the project manager needs to develop the
WBS. As the WBS will shows the work package in order to achieve the project deliverables.
Therefore, WBS also not illustrates the resource or time to complete the task. However, the
method of the critical path is applied in terms of creating the schedule. As per to the CPM
(critical path method) concepts, the schedule is created through arranging the activities as well as
determining the one critical path at least by which the individual group is connected in
