1 Introduction
1.1 Outline
A report is prepared which will help in evaluating information related with how project should be
managed. In the field of engineering innovation is one of the aspects which is required to be taken
into consideration. Managing innovative projects is relatively tougher than other project, hence it is
required that a project manager indulging in such type of projects should have proper set of
knowledge regarding PMBOK. Hence, a report is developed which will include tactics of project
management provided in PMBOK.

2 Background
2.1 Your Background
Mechanical Engineering is a field which includes huge scope for sustainable future. Mechanical
engineering teaches some or the other new thing at each and every step. Mechanical engineering
helps in enhancing the critical thinking skills and provides a better opportunity for future growth.
Developing project management skills is one of the most important aspects in present time. Hence,
a project is developed which will help in developing a better set of understanding with project
management skills. Information related with project management will be availed which is gained
from PMBOK.
2.2 Your objectives
Objective of this report is to evaluate and analyse the information related with project management
tactics. The information gained will help in enhancing the knowledge and skills of an individual
with the effect of which he will be able to manage the project in a proper way.

3 Integration
3.1 Definition of Project Integration Management
The process which helps in identifying, combining and coordinating all the aspects of the project is
known as project integration management (Varajão, et. al., 2017). Project integration management
is the aspect which helps in managing the project activities with the effect of which project could be
developed and its requirements could get fulfilled by the project manager. Project integration
management will help in making the engineering projects more effective and will help the team in
managing its activities in a proper and subtle way.
3.2 How does this apply to my work in this course?
Project integration management is one of the most important aspects attached with the engineering
projects (Hoyle, 2013). It is required that all the processes which are included in it should be taken
into consideration by the project manager as it will help in managing the project activities in a
refined way. Project integration management helps the project manager in many ways like:
(Indelicato, 2009)

It helps in availing proper set of information related with the project. Each and every activity is
being explained in the project integration management which helps in managing the things in more
smooth way (Jamali, and Oveisi, 2016).
It helps in enhancing the knowledge and skills of the people indulged in the project. These skills
help them in bringing quality to the project.
A proper direction will be provided which will help the project manager and the team in completing
the same within the required deadlines and budget decided (Maqsood, 2011).

4 Stakeholders
4.1 Definition of Project Stakeholder Management
Stakeholders are the people who are either directly or indirectly attached with the project and its
activity. They are the people who get benefited as well as affected with every single activity of the
project. Stakeholders play a very vital role in the formulation of a project and provide a support
system which helps in completing the project in which it is required (Rose, 2013). Hence, it is
necessary that all the stakeholders should be taken into consideration and information related with
their needs and requirements should be gathered. This will help in managing the project and
completing the same in a proper and effective way.
4.2 How does this apply to my work in this course?
Stakeholders a termed as one of the most important part of a project. For a project manager it is
required that every single stakeholder should be taken into consideration (Saleh Al-Freidi, 2015).
Hence, analysing all the stakeholders will help the project manager in managing the project and
completing the same in a most appropriate way:

(Santos, 2008)
Project manager is the stakeholders who keeps an eye on each and every activity of the project and
manages the team working on the project.
Customers or end users are the most important stakeholders who purchase the end product produced
by the project or for whom the project is being developed.
Project team members are the people who remain indulged in processing every single activity of the
project (Tavan, and Hosseini, 2016). They work to manage the project in a proper way and helps in
completing the same within the required dates.
Sponsors are the stakeholders who provide funding and related help for the project. This helps in
managing the project and availing relevant resources for the same.
Government plays a very vital role for every project as they develop a set framework and
regulations with the effect of which work could be managed and all the project activities could be
processed in a proper way (Varajão, et. al., 2017).

5 Scope
5.1 Definition of Project Scope Management
Project scope helps in defining the boundaries and objectives for the project. Developing a project
without any objective is of no use because without any objective a project manager could not
succeed in completing the same. Reason behind it is that a project without any objective cannot be
processed as it does not have any direction with the effect of which it completed. Hence, it is
necessary that a project should have proper set of scopes and boundaries so that it could get
completed and should provide a proper set of benefits to the stakeholders available in the market.
5.2 How does this apply to my work in this course?
Mechanical Engineering Project is the projects which cannot be processed without any scope or
boundaries. These are the projects which are related with some or the other objectives and it
becomes necessary that these objectives should get fulfilled in a proper way (Kaczmarska, and
Gierulski, 2015). Hence, it is necessary that the scope for the mechanical engineering projects
should be determined and the same should be processed aiming to fulfil the set objectives are
targets. There are various set of benefits which are being provided with the help of project scope
these benefits are:
Project scope helps in determining the objectives on which the project is required to be processed.
All the requirements related with the project could be determined with the help of project scope
It helps in determining the acceptance criteria of the project which helps in decision making aspects
of whether the project should be initiated or the idea should be dropped (Brioso, 2015).
Boundaries of the project are being developed with the help of which all the activities of the
projects of the project could be processed in a fair way.
It helps in determining all the constraints of the project which helps in fulfilling the project
requirements.
Milestones for each activity are being developed by evaluating the scope for the same. This helps in
scheduling and completing the project within the required dates.

Risk related with the project are also being evaluated in the scope. It helps in the development of
the strategies with could help in mitigating the risk aspects and managing the project (Gomes,
2013).
6 Resources
6.1 Definition of Project Resource Management
Project resource management is the process which helps in determining and gathering appropriate
number of people for the progress of the project (Hoyle, 2013). Human resource plays a very vital
role for any project and when it comes to the engineering project it becomes more important that
proper number of human resource should be gathered. Hence, developing a proper recruitment and
selection process could help in managing the project and completing it within the required
deadlines.
6.2 How does this apply to my work in this course?
Project resource management is the process in which the number of people required to work upon
the project are evaluated and the most appropriate and skilled people are selected (Indelicato, 2009).
In a mechanical engineering project one of the most important aspects required to be taken into
consideration is the human resource. Proper number of human resource should be availed so that
progress of the project could be maintained and same could be completed in an effective way.
Managing human resource in project management includes:
Developing a proper organisational structure so that each and every individual working on the
project should have the knowledge of on which department he is required to work and from which
managerial head he should take the instructions (Jamali, and Oveisi, 2016).
To manage the project resources it is required that organisational theory should be considered by
the project manager.
Training is another aspect which is required to be focused upon. Providing proper set of training to
each and every team member of the mechanical project will help in refining their skills and will
help in bringing quality to the same.
Cost control is another aspect which is required to be focused upon by the project manager. There
are various set of fluctuations which could occur in the project. In this situation it becomes
