1. Introduction
Brief description of the case study
This project depicts the project prcatices that the assigned project supervisor and team
needs to follow for upgrading the existing lecture capture system. The lecturers and the current
students of Australian University were facing certain operational and functional issues. In order
to improve theses difficulties and challenges the university staffs have decided to upgrade the
existing system. The lecture capture project was initiated in the year of 2017. The staffs were
interested to improve the existing facilities throughout the 5 campuses in all the 160 classrooms.
Successful upgrade of the existing lecture capture facility project will help the project staffs
accessing the device physically.
However, there was a functional challenge present for the project. If the existing system
is upgraded then the early will not be found. It is estimated that the upgrade activity will take
approximately 4 days. The total budget estimated for the project is $50,000.
Motivation
The main motivation of the project is to design and implement an ultimate solution for
Australia University in terms of lecture capture project upgrade to give unlimited access to the
staffs.
Ultimate goals
The ultimate goal of Australian university is to provide direct physical access of the
upgraded device and make sure that the staffs are capable to access the device while required.

General plan
In order to upgrade the lecture capture device, the project team needs to maintain
waterfall development method followed by initiation, planning, execution, testing and final
implementation.
2. Problem description
After analyzing the case scenario it is recognized that some of the lecture rooms were not
unlocked. Therefore, numbers of lecture classes get reduced than the early estimation. The
university officers were not informed about all the upgrade activities those are to be taken by the
project team for system improvement. It is also identified that, for all the upgrade codes the
device was nit giving proper response. It is determined that, if the system is successfully
upgraded then the identified issues will get resolved.
3. Research methodology
In order to conduct the research based on improvement elements positivism research
philosophy, deductive approach, descriptive research design, primary data sources and quality
data collection technique will be maintained. If qualitative data are collected from primary
resources successfully then hidden facts related to the lecture capture device will be revealed
easily. The existing functional risks will also get eliminated with this implementation.

Data Collection
Data has been collected from primary qualitative methods. Interview has been conducted
with three project staffs. There will be four open ended questions asked to participants and their
responses will be taken as data and information for the research.

Findings
Based on the interview, it can be analysed that project staffs have faced certain issues in
the conduction of the project. Some of the old devices were not working properly and up
gradation code was not uploaded in the old devices. The staffs reviewed that they were not able
to get access to some lecture rooms fie to lack of knowledge in the university officials about the
up gradation project. However, the project has already missed its deadline by 4 days and staffs
have to revisit the lecture rooms for completing their up gradation prospects. The benefits of this

up gradation is that the lecture record will be more scaled up and there will be options of
resuming and pausing the lecture. Students will be able to watch these recordings later on after
the lecture and resume it whenever required. This will help in academic development of the
students and business development of the University. The up gradation project has been feasible
for the staffs and will help in creating more opportunities for the students in future.
Recommendations
In order to get positive outcome from the project, the device need to include some
security elements. The security program will make sure that only useful data are accessed and
none of the unauthorized person would be able to access data from the server. Improving the best
course actions is essential for project success and security improvement program as well.
Conclusion
From the above discussion it is concluded that, quality data collected from the primary
resources using interview will help the staffs, supervisor and project team understanding the
project goals and objectives. It will also help to improve the user experiences.
