1.3 My job [10 marks]
(a) My current job is: Current job is deli team member at Coles. In this position, my responsibility is to provide an exceptional responsive service to the
customers arriving in deli counter, by giving answers to the questions and the queries of the customers. I am responsible for solving the queries of the
customers and providing them with the recommendations related to their queries. I have worked as a deli assistant and I had the responsibilities of
preparing the orders of the customers. However, my main responsibility was to provide service to the customers of the deli counters by resolving their
queries. I had been assigned with preparation of packaging, serving the deli products to the customers and greeting the customers. I have handled a lot of
customer queries and my efficient communication skills has helped me in management of the queries of the customers. In my current job, I could brush up
my communication skills and could also learn about the different management skills while managing the various types of customer queries. While working
in this post I have understood the importance of time management and I feel that it will help me in my professional career. The overall operations of the
deli managers include hiring the staffs, purchasing food and making sure everyone is trained on management and delivery of the food. I am waiting for
better opportunities and a better job in my field. I am currently undertaking a course on the masters of project management and I am waiting for more
opportunities in this field.
1.4 What would you like to achieve from this unit? [10 marks]
I am currently studying the PPMP20018 Project Practicum Unit
In this unit I will focus on knowing about the role and responsibilities of a project manager which will help in my professional career. The unit will enable me
to know the basic principles of managing a project and will also provide an understanding of the skills and competencies required to be a successful project
manager (Meredith, Mantel Jr & Shafer, 2017). At the end of this course, I expect to get a good knowledge of the technical expertise and skills required to
perform the job of a project manager in an effective manner. By this unit’s completion, I expect to gain an understanding of my strength and weaknesses.
Understanding the weaknesses will help me to work on it and be a stronger person. The project management unit is quite important for my professional
career and I wish effectively work as a manager in a project. From my current job, I have gathered the knowledge about the time management skills which
can help me in management of any project. Hence, I feel that this particular course will be beneficial for me to get a good job in future as by the completion
of this unit, I will achieve different soft skills related to management of the project.

I am eligible for CAPM.
I am currently studying the masters of project management and therefore, the next step in my career would be to get a certification. It is a
tough decision to choose from the two different types of certification, which are the Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification and
Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM).
PMP certification has a credibility in more than 85 countries and has become an effective standard across the globe (Heldman, 2018). PMP is
known across the different industries and in a number of countries. The PMP certification was developed by the project management institute
in the year 1984 (Kerzner, 2017). PMI indicates that and experience project manager should be responsible for all aspects of project
management.

CAPM on the other hand is an entry level certification that even allows with less experience in demonstrating the familiarity in the profession.
This mainly deals with those people who may not have a sound knowledge and experience in this field (Sanghera Sanghera & Ramachandran,
2019).
I am ineligible for PMP as I have no considerable understanding in the field of management of a project. I am involved with a course of masters
in project management and therefore, I am eligible for CAMP. Since I do not have any significant knowledge related all the different aspects of
project management, I do not find myself eligible for PMP as PMP certification requires an individual to have sound knowledge about all the
different processes of project management (Manzione et al., 2016). Therefore, I find CAMP as an appropriate certification as per my study and
experience. I am keen on working as a project manager in future and CAMP certification. This certification can be achieved regardless of the
career stage and can enhance ones credibility and effectiveness of team-work. Therefore, I find this to be an appropriate certification for my
career.
