1. Appropriate Techniques of Project Evaluation
The different techniques of evaluation of the room and kitchen renovation project are:
1. Traditional – The traditional form of project management technique mainly focuses
over the main activities involved in project management. Based on the renovation project, it
could be used for understanding that the traditional form of project management could be useful.
In this project, each of the activities would be completed in proper sequence.
2. Waterfall – This technique of project management is mainly useful in such kind of
projects in which every activity would need to be performed in a sequential manner or parallel
manner. As per the discussed project, it can be seen that the waterfall methodology could be
helpful for the management of projects (Kuhrmann et al., 2017). Tasks can be done in a
sequential manner. Moreover, the waterfall methodology would also help in finding the critical
activities that need to be done in order to proceed on to the next task of the development process.
3. Kanban – Although this form of project management could be useful in software
development process, however, this technique is not suitable for construction and renovation
projects. In this process, the work is mostly divided into small manageable tasks (Pheng &
Meng, 2018). Efficient work could be done with the help of different groups.
4. Agile – The agile project management approach can be defined as an iterative
approach for guiding the planning process for the project development. This process could be
useful for the kitchen renovation project as they would help in understanding of issues and
bringing necessary changes at any part of the project (Tomek & Kalinichuk, 2015). This would
also be helpful in saving of resources and help in delivering the project within the proper

assigned budget and time. In this part of project management, the project manager working over
the project could also help in discussing about specific aspects of project.
5. Scrum – This technique is mainly used in software development projects and thus
could also be useful for maintaining and managing an efficient mode of software delivery.
However, this technique could not be useful for renovation projects as this technique divides the
task in smaller sprints. During the performing of renovation work, this technique would not be a
viable technique to manage different forms of projects (Machado, Pinheiro & Tamanini, 2015).
The failure of prioritizing the set of features would mostly result in producing low quality over
the projects.
6. Lean – This technique of project management could be helpful in producing greater
form of customer satisfaction. Different concepts such as lean manufacturing, lean construction
and lean thinking could be useful in the aspects of project management. This technique would
also help in taking an account of the waste that might be created with overburden. This form of
technique would also help in reducing the efforts of others during the hours of engineering. The
primary goal of the lean management technique is to reduce the amount of effort that is being put
by every individual and would also help in achieving an operational excellence.
