Research approach: Inductive and deductive are the main two research approaches that
can be employed by the scholar for current research or study. Inductive approach of
research lays high level of emphasis on generalization of new theoretical framework
(Daniel and Sam, 2011). On the other hand, deductive approach lays high level of
emphasis on the confirmation of hypothesis. In the current, to evaluate the impact of CSR
activities on the performance of LSL architects inductive research approach has been
selected by researcher. Such approach of research highly suits to qualitative investigation
and thereby assists in determining suitable solution.
Research philosophy: In research, philosophies are highly varied in accordance with the
type and nature of investigation. Hence, interpretivism and positivism are the main two
types of philosophies that researcher can select to conduct whole study in an effectual
way (Fiegen, 2010). Hence, interpretivism philosophy has been selected by the researcher
to address data related to the CSR of LSL architects. Hence, by employing such
philosophy scholar has assessed the extent to which CSR activities helps in gaining
competitive edge over others.
Data collection: Data is the main input of research on which whole study and its outcome
are dependent. Hence, primary and secondary are the main two types of sources from
which data can be gathered by the scholar (Flick, 2011). Hence, in the present
investigation data has been gathered by the researcher through the means of both primary
and secondary. Hence, to collect primary data survey technique has been selected by the
scholar. Thus, by preparing questionnaire including questions regarding CSR and sending
the same to 10 managers of LSL architects data has been gathered by the scholar. Along
with this, books, journals, scholarly articles and government reports has also been
evaluated by the scholar to get understanding about CSR activities and its impact on
company’s position or image.
Sampling: Sample can be chosen by the scholar through the means of probabilistic and
no-probabilistic sampling technique (Garner and Scott, 2013). Hence, in the present

investigation by using purposive sampling technique 10 managers of LSL architects has
been selected by the researcher. Thus, by taking views from manager researcher has
identified the impact of CSR on company’s performance.
