Discussion Board Post
AI Summary
This assignment is a discussion activity focusing on Enterprise Environmental Factors (EEFs) and their impact analysis within the context of Ford Motor Co.'s Electrical/Electronic Systems Engineering department. The discussion identifies internal environmental factors like the project management office structure (governance board, project managers, stakeholders) and their interrelationships. It then explores tools and techniques for evaluating both the qualitative (reputation, brand image) and quantitative (financial performance) impacts of EEFs. The assignment suggests using project reports, customer perception analysis, PERT/GERT for qualitative assessment, and financial statement analysis (horizontal and vertical analysis) for quantitative impact evaluation. Justifications for these tools are provided, emphasizing the importance of project reports, the utility of PERT/GERT in tracking project timelines, and the relevance of financial statements in understanding project contributions. The assignment references several academic sources to support its analysis.

Discussion Activity
Identification of Enterprise Environmental Factors of project
Enterprise Environmental factor (EEF) refers to internal and external business environmental
factors that affect projects o companies. In the provided case study of Ford Motor, it can be
noticed that internal environmental factors have been discussed in order to mention the effect of
these factors on project of Electrical/Engineering department of this organization. Project
management office of this company consists of three different levels, such as the governance
board of engineering chiefs and executive directors, project managers, and stakeholders.
Duty of this governance board is to identify priority of tasks within project and members of
this board develop lots of developmental levels for project. This board includes 4 engineering
chiefs and 2 executive directors. On another hand, stakeholders include members from different
departments of this company, who takes part in projects. Experts of subject matter are considered
within this level. Professional project managers are important part of project of this
organization. They are liable to develop an execution plan of the project, taking part in approved
projects, the formation of the team, and development of change management process and
performing the process of audit. All of these internal environmental factors are interrelated and
work collaboratively in approved projects of Electrical/Engineering Department projects of ford
motor. Communication between these levels helps this company to execute project plans
effectively.

Tools and technique to evaluate Quantitative and qualitative impact of EEF
Qualitative impact includes the impact on intangible assets such as reputation, values, brand
image, goodwill, and others. As mentioned by Taherdoost (2018), the qualitative impact of EEF
on projects of Ford Motor can be evaluated by assessment of project report. Perception of
customers and their behavior towards the company may help to measure the status of reputation,
goodwill and brand image of this company. PERT (Project Evaluation and Review Technique),
GERT (graphical Evaluation and Review technique) can be used to measure the performance of
individual members as per predetermines schedule.
On another hand, quantitative impact includes impact on financial performance of
organization. Horizontal and vertical analysis of financial statement of project can be done in
order to identify effect of EEF on financial performance of Ford Motor (Burke, 2013).
Justification of selected tools and technique
Project report includes all information including activities of all members in project and
influence of external factors on project. As opined by Orouji (2016), evaluation of project report
may be considered as a helpful technique that helps to measure qualitative impact of EEF on
project. Using technique such as PERT and GERT, contribution of internal environmental factors
can be measured. These techniques help to keep record of start and end time of projects. Delays
and their reasons can be evaluated after analyzing information of PERT and GERT.
Quantitative impact of EEF can be easily understood by evaluating financial performance of
project. Kerzner & Kerzner (2017) have mentioned that financial statement contains detail
information regarding contribution of projects and this aspect can help to understand effect of
