AI Summary
This project specification form examines the effectiveness of project management processes in the context of an e-archiving project introduced in flight operations at the General Civil Aviation Authority (GCAA). The study aims to analyze the existing archiving system, identify the project management processes involved, and compare these processes with established project management theory. The scope encompasses the introduction of project management principles within the aviation industry, driven by factors such as new regulations and operational needs. The methodology involves analyzing secondary data related to e-archiving projects and collecting primary data to assess the effectiveness of the project management processes. The project follows a life cycle approach, including initiation, planning, execution, and closure phases. The objectives include analyzing the current archiving system, identifying the project management processes, comparing these processes to theory, critiquing secondary data, evaluating the effectiveness of the project management process, identifying benefits and drawbacks, seeking opinions from IT project sponsors, drawing conclusions, and making recommendations for improvements. The project also includes risk analysis, contingency planning, resource allocation, and ethical considerations, culminating in a time plan and references.

Project Title
Examine the effectiveness of the Project Management process of the e-
archiving project introduced in flight operations at GCAA and to identify the
benefits of the delivered project
Introduction/Background:
Aims:
The aim of this project study is to examine effectiveness of the processes related to the project
management to introduce the flight operations and analyze existing archiving system used for the flight
operations.
Scope:
The scope of this project study is introducing project management processes into the aviation industry.
The concept of project management is being introduced into the flight operations at GCAA. By means of
GCAA strategy, there is regulation as well as review of the safety, security plus environment of the
aviation industry. There is delivering of air navigation services along with facilitating of the air
connectivity throughout the international collaboration. The flight operations are to be performed through
public as well as civil aviation industry in a cost effective ways. The project work is being originated with
drivers which are required at the project initiation phase such as new international and local aviation
regulations, new governmental needs and require solving the operational issues and enhancing of the
operational efficiencies.
In order to analyze current archiving system used into the flight operations, the research study gets scope
to collect data through secondary method related to the e-archiving projects. The primary data collection
method is also used into this project study to examine effectiveness of the project management processes
into introducing the flight operations. The project life cycle strategies are used in the flight operations by
following stages like initiation, planning, execution and closure phases.
Objectives: (usually 5 or 6 ‘SMART’ objectives)
1. Analyze current archiving system used in Flight Operations
2. Identify the project management process involved in the e-archiving system
3. Compare process used with project management theory
4. Analyze and critique secondary data relating to e-archiving projects / project management
5. Identifying the effectiveness of the project management process and benefits and drawbacks of

the new system
6. Seek opinion of IT project sponsors responsible for managing the project
7. Draw conclusions from secondary and primary data
Make recommendations for further improvements in the project management process and the delivered e-
archiving system
Outcomes: (deliverables; by the end of the project)
Research Approach/Methodology: (indicate why this approach is selected and any limitations)
Risk Analysis and Contingency Planning: (A review of what could go wrong and how will you deal
with such eventualities)
Resources: (a list of resources needed to complete the project)
Code of Ethics: (identify any ethical considerations)
Time Plan: (Gantt Chart or schedule of the tasks required to complete the project)
