INTRODUCTION
QA Higher education in London is going to organise sporting event in the
country(Aragón-Zavala, 2017). It will be held between various higher educational institutions in
London which is called Higher Education Institutions. This report contain a document
representing initiation of project in which basic information regarding budget, timescales,
objectives and many more. This report also contain a work breakdown structure of the work.
MAIN BODY
Sample Project Initiation document.
The Project initiation document is a document which provides for management, overall success
and scope criteria which helps the team to guide them during the project. It provides for
important artefacts which helps to provide for basis for the project.

Project name: HEI games.
Project Date:
Description of the project: In QA higher education it is decided to conduct indoor sporting
activity in which various educational institutes of London will
going to participate (Kwiatkowski, and Könecke, 2017).
Time scale A full academic year is provided to conduct this event and the
event will take place in July or August.
Objectives The main objective of this project is to conduct and promote
various sports activities. One more objective to conduct this
sport activity is to attract more students in the institution. QA
Higher education wants to conduct it as a flagship event for the
institution. It will help the institution to promote their facilities
(Liu, Wang, and Jing, 2019).
Key staff There is a need to appoint a committee in which helps to take
necessary decision in the event. The key staff which needs to
appointed are managers to manage all the games. Different

coaches with specialisation in decided games are need to be
appointed as they will guide the students at the time and can be
appointed as judge during the games.
Stakeholder analysis The Management of QA Higher education
Management of the institution is responsible for the
conduction of the event as they decided to appoint a
project manager in order to manage this event (Turner,
and Stevinson, 2017).
The organisers of the event organisers are those
persons who organise the event in better and well
organised manner. They organise the event by investing
their time and money in the event and are generally
businessman who wants top promote their products and
services.
Individual players going to participate in the event –
Players who participate in the games to be conducted
are most important as they helps to get
Member institutions participate in the Flagship event.
Investors and brands who invest in the gaming activity.
Budgetary information Marketing of the event – Marketing is very essential to
attract more and more participants in the event. It
involves a cost to be incurred on marketing such as
advertising expenses and many more (van der Kruk, and
Reijne, 2018).
Winning price – As it is a competition and game of
indoor sports, so there is a need to provide winning
price for the participant who win the game. That must
be something precious to attract and motivate more and
more participants to win the game.
Arrival of players Participants will come from

different cities and universities and to give them a good
experience in the event there is a need of warm
welcome of those participants.
Staying of players The players who came from
different country need to stay in the locality and those
expenses will be paid by organisers only.
Food facilities in the event – Food facilities will be
provided to the audience and other people who are
present in the event to make their experience good with
the event.
Travelling expenses of players – The participants will
be called of to the stadium with travelling expenses of
the organiser only.
Food facilities to the players – The time period players
are staying with the institution the food expenses will be
borne by company only.
Appointing proper authority to guide the participants ( Yan, and
Huang, 2019).
All these activities needs to provide a proper budget allocation.
For all these activities a budget of £20K for each university
who are participating in the event has been provided.

CONCLUSION
From the above discussion it come to know that the project initiation document is required to
plan the activities to be performed in the organisation and it helps in proper planning of the steps
required in the process. Further the work is to be broke down in smaller parts and assigned
accordingly which can be learn from work breakdown structure.
