Stagnant wages as well as inflating range of home prices are these days becoming a
major issue in Canada. In other words the affordability for homes is becoming unattainable day
by day. However, the rate of population in industrial area are rapidly increasing and thus people
with high income in Canada are looking for constructing dream home in a dream riverfront
location. The dream home that is planned to construct in this paper is located in Windsor city,
Ontario, Canada. The land price of Windsor city, Ontario, Canada is these days running low and
thus, the owners has planned to construct the home.
Before initiating the project a detail project scope, WBS, Gantt chart, network diagram
using CPM, risk management plan, quality management plan, communication management,
human resource management and project budget management plan are elaborated in this paper.
In order to begin the dream home construction project the owner established a contract with a
building contractor. It is determined that, the builder will share a project status report
periodically to the other project team associates. Real estate agent will help the owner to select
the location. Once the paper works, government permission and other final documents are clearly
done, the construction work will be initiated.
Project Scope
The scope of the project is to construct a dream home in a riverfront location of Windsor

pollution free. The materials those are used for construction of a green home include non toxic,
ethical and sustainable materials. The design will enable adaption for changing the overall
environment. In order to complete the construction works both technical and non technical
experts are required. It is assumed that successful completion of the dream home construction
work will meet expectation of clients and give positive, pollution free environment.
For this project a scope baseline in terms of a benchmark or reference must be considered
by the project manager and maintained by team throughout the project development life cycle
period. The scope for the dream home construction project holds a WBS dictionary and a detail
document. Project scope has to be formally approved by the construction lead and project
sponsor. The scope set for this project can be changed through different forma control
procedures.
