Introduction
The adoption of a suitable project management methodology is directly associated with the type
of business being pursuing and will rely heavily on the product being manufactured or produced
to determine the most suitable project methodology adopted (Haugan, 2011). Organisation C is a
technology service provider which is a fast growing and highly demanded field in today’s world.
This makes it important for the organization to ensure it's delivering the highest quality services
to its customers and continue testing and upgrading the existing technologies. It’s also critical to
keep researching regarding new consumer expectations in the market and review competitor
products and services to determine if the business is delivering high-quality and advanced
technology services to its customers.
1. Is implementing a project management methodology considered a management
level activity? Who should be involved?
Yes, the implementation of a project management methodology must be considered as a
management activity as it involves the organization and planning or product development
marketing and innovation. This makes project management methodology an important part of
every organization establishment and must be utilized for effective project planning and
execution (Young, 2013). Every project will require evaluating and adopting a different project
management methodology but in the Case of Organization C which deals with need to adopt the
waterfall management methodology. This requires for services and products to be developed

using a systematic system which includes identification of a product or service requirement,
product and service design, proposal implementation, verification and maintenance and updating
(Institute, 2014). This management methodology also requires for the product development and
improvement changes to be relayed back to the /design stage where they can be re-evaluated and
additional modifications made to further improve their performance. All stages of the products
and service development must involve all stake holders to ensure every aspect of the project has
been addressed and all stake holders are comfortable with changes being implemented and
followed.
2. Should the chosen project management methodology be implemented in its
entirety? Please support your decision with an implementation plan.
It is vital for the methodologies being considered for any project to first be evaluated by the
process of the project to ensure each step has been covered. This allows for the management to
select the right management methodology which can then be used on the project. Next, the
business will need to ensure each step of the selected mythology has been followed and a reverse
process is in place to assist with additional change requirement which may be required on the
project. For Organization C the first step would be identification and development of suitable
technology services. Once developed and tested the technology can then be introduced to the
public with the Tech team and developers prepared to cater to customer complaints (Kerzner,
2004). This is due to there being a high expectancy in the number of complaints related to bugs
on the new services which need to be resolved immediately so as to retain consumer interest.
This would require for the project management to focus its attention more towards product and
service perfection before considering further development and inclusion of additional features.
Only after the product has achieved 90%+ used operations without glitches can the organization
consider further development and improvement.
3. What issues might you encounter when implementing the chosen project
management methodology?
The main issues that can be anticipated while developing technological products are their
compatibility with the wide range of digital gadgets they are installed to. This is especially true
while developing smart phone application which required being compatible with a wide range of

smartphone falling under different configurations (Carroll, 2012). These results in the developer
required to perform considerable research and modifications on each application before they are
capable of making them compatible with all smartphone devices.
4. What should be done to address the difficulties faced in attempting to implement the
methodology?
Every project is likely to face major complications while attempting to implement new
methodologies but it’s important to include all stake holders linked to the project to secure the
widest knowledge related to the product or service (Klimoski et al., 2014). Each stake holder will
have their own perception and feedback related to the product or service making it important for
the organization to invite all stake holder views and comments to help them resolve any current
or impending problems.

5. What benefits do you attribute to the use of the chosen project management
methodology?
The waterfall methodology is the best-suited management approach to implement with the
development of technical services due to the ability of the organization to reverse decisions
related to the development so as to improve functionality (Program, 2006). This is due to each of
the processed following a systematic step wise approach which allows for each stage to be
recorded and changes immediately reported to the design team once technical issues are
identified.
Conclusion
Organisation C being a technology service provider, the business is likely to experience major
complications related to product and service maintenance. This makes it important to have a
well-developed Design and development department which coordinated with testing, sales and
after sales service and maintained to identify bugs which may require immediate attention so as
to maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and high performance before considering further
development.
