ABSTRACT
The purpose of this research is to identify the important characteristics that a leader in Project
Management need to own to make certain successful communication. The Professional Leader will
have the abilities like capable of stimulation, idealized and incentive components of transformational
management cause promotion attention and exception management and also there is error
consciousness of transactional management it will results in preventing of consideration. The trait of
a project manager will suggest this kind of leader and also the way of leadership that the
undertaking manager will be applied during the oversight pf projects.
In this paper there will be impact on leadership styles i.e. Transformational and Transactional, the
task supervisor’s normal day will be filled with lots of challenges , Each day consists of an unending
movement of email, cut-off date troubles a few frustrating events, and also we know that conflicting
some view factors from stakeholders and inopportune times there will be needs for adjustments.
We are here probable to find, within an everyday inside the existence of a mission, a few success
and big achievements, victories also.

and also others who rely on us for some needs like in which direction we have to follow, support,

performance and also to function properly you have to set boundaries inside the team. These kind of

A complete literature review of Leadership skills is conducted. We can say that Literature is related
to Leadership skills and also, it’s characteristics, traits and behaviour it also includes organizational
overall performance. Usually Project success were significantly arising when the project manager
utilized transformational management by doing this project have been more likely to be finished on
time and also in an effective way, the basic commercial enterprise objectives there will be more
chances to be achieved. The role of the Project leader’s is the way of declaring that “leaders have to
be capable of explaining to their group members, why they must be submitted, they can get
responsibility through exhibiting a principal of commitment themselves. We realize that
transformational leadership approach, which will be develop as one of the among prevailing
speculations and hierarchical authority.

ways. Appropriate Project Manager consists of characterizing 15 leadership capabilities used in the

addition to professional project .it would be better by highlight their individual qualifications.
Leadership in the team is not vested in any individual person, rather than that leadership role is
taken by different team members. Choosing suitable Project Managers will interest in those who are
playing the role of selecting project manager. These type of leadership patterns will be characterized
by according to their degree like supportive relationship and directive task conduct.
1. Telling – It refers to the leader who will characterize the roles of each person or group and
also, he/she provides the why, when, what, how and where to do the work. This type of
relationship is recognised as means of one way communication.
2. Selling – In this the leader is now using two-way communication at the same time the leader
is continuing providing the way of method and also emotional support that will allow each
person or organization being influenced by others.
3. Delegating – In this the leader is continuing concerning the decisions, while the technique
and their duty has been exceeded to every member in the team or group.

In Today’s generation there is a huge business environment, Leaders and managers of the project,
they need to make sure that ethics permeates all the of organizational operations. Ethics and
management together can add an ethical measurement for the decision making manner to achieve
the success of the organization.
Making moral decisions is not easy because for every problem there will not be a proper solution.
We recognise that “Leadership” has been a huge topic since many years, leadership skills may be
developed by means of organization/ group without any huge efforts. As we know that strategic
initiatives, they are implemented through projects and also it has become compulsory that these are
managed very effectively and ethically.
The main theme of this paper is about ‘’Project Leadership” i.e. “Positive Leadership”. In these there
are many different methods of leadership. We have to consider as “external demonstration of
leadership” like a good communicator and motivator. In leadership what is accomplished through
leadership is more important than what it appears to be. The important factor is to learn about what
is true, authentic.
Basically, best performance groups are highly concentrate on their goals, all the members of the
team will be assigned their specific roles individually and their skills aligned and they are committed
to a same purpose, they will continuously show their high levels of collaboration and their
innovation which will give best results.
Always project managers will be thinking on achieving both short-time and mid-time outputs to
achieve project goals, this will be a part of the long-time strategic goals. This will make combination
of the effective leadership and project management plays an important role in achieving short-term
and long-term strategic goals. In High performance team will be focused on sense of clear focus and
there will be an intense energy with in the team. Each member in the team shows high levels of
mutual trust and understanding towards each other. Before the leaders achieves their strategic
goals, they will create a vision, it will be the future state of the organization and also the team
members feel a strong sense of accountability.
Successful project managers, they used to develop their leadership skills continuously in the team.
They will motivate and inspire the members of the team in such a way that they will start to
recognizing their efforts, setting specified goals, making suitable contributions and the key factor is
encouraging the team members to lead them towards achieving their goals and for the
development of the team they also practice effective human resource management processes.

Basically, these Trait theories are leadership aspect which will be focused on every
leader and they will try to regulate the things like characteristics. These traits that any
individual can study. The suitable character traits which are includes with leadership are

rather than having only enterprising spirit. Every leader will give first preference for
power, rather than follower they always wanted to be in position of leadership.
2. Self Confidence: It plays a major role in Leadership; we know that Leadership role is like
challenging. self confidence helps a leader to solve problems, facing difficult obstacles,
making valuable decisions without any uncertainty and still the leader will be confident
to others.
3. Knowledge: Aw we know that Effective leaders will have a huge knowledge regarding
technical matters, industries, companies, intelligent and also inspiring.
4. Loyalty: Usually the leaders who will show loyalty and honesty, they will be a high
chance of doing mistakes and also when people started to trust and believe him, this
will lead to increase his influence as well.
5. Integrity: It is considered as each team leader, his work towards the project, when
he/she failed to complete their work on time and also, they are unable to execute,

2. Behavioral Approach
Behavioral Approach refers to the work of the leaders do, despite traits or
capabilities.
1. Decision Making: It plays an important role while doing a project. In these there are 2
types of leadership i.e. Autocratic and other one is Democratic. Here, Autocratic refers
to the leader who will take their own decisions and Democratic refers to the leader will
take decisions from their members of the team.
2. Task Performance: In these, the leader will put all his efforts to make sure that the
teams or organizations to achieve their goals on time. This will be focused on quality
and quantity of the output, ability of work efficiency.
3. Group Maintenance: These type of Behaviors will helps in making good work
relationships and maintain a good environment in the group and this makes the
satisfaction of the group members by comfort, appreciation and also mainly reducing
the stress occurred due to heavy work.
3. Situational Approach
These types of theories will usually analyse leaders from others based
upon the situation and there are some factors which includes different types of projects,
structure of the organizations, personal preferences and also there are some influences which
belongs to upper-level management. As we know, the Leaders will modify their decision
making, planning, orientation also like in a motivational way.
METHODOLOGY
The effective project manager, the person who is having special skills like technical and interpersonal

Vision and The way of direction- This will describe the motive and reason underlying the
project and shows their passion.
Assume that Project Manager as Manager or Administrator:
Plans and Budgets- He will coordinate the things like resource requirements, cost of the
equipment and materials as well with functional managers.
Organizing the project- He arranges for the suitable skilled resources and acquires resources
and also, he will regulate release dates.
Organizes project work- He used to assign and authorize all the work responsibilities during
the project.
Control over the project – In the team, he retrieves agreement and creates a mutually
agreed upon monitoring and controls the procedures, he also develops an implementation
plan.
Basically, Managers will be focused on carryout and following the processes, they are habitual for
their daily routine works and assuring that the members of the group can be useful with all the
appliances they have to perform their own works.
We know that the Leaders are Innovators, the people who tries to improve ways of completing the
work on time and executing as well, also facing the difficulties and challenging the procedure, this
leads to improve the level of team’s capacity.
