1 INTRODUCTION
Project management can be considered as the process of applications which consists of
different processes along with knowledges and skills which are needed for the purpose of
achieving the objectives that the project is having. So it can be considered that this is the
concept which is associated with helping in the easy implementation and management of the
product. Project management is also associated with ensuring the fact that a project is
successfully delivered to the clients and so choices of proper project management
methodology is to be done which is generally different for every individual organization.so it
can be stated that the project management methodology is associated with easier
implementation of the project which can also be considered as a significant reason for why
the various organizations use and adopt the project management methodologies. The study
conducted in last ten weeks along with the tutorials and the lecture notes have been
associated with providing a wide view of the various project management methodologies.
Besides this it is also easy to understand the impact of the chosen methodology over the
project stakeholders along the major elements which are generally associated with the use of
the project management methodology in any organization. The project’s success is totally
dependent on the appropriate governance of the project and in this the project manager plays
a very vital role in order to ensure the success of the project. The consolidated portfolio has
been associated with reflecting the learning outcomes of the course have been fulfilled. The
learning experiences have also been discussed in the following section of the consolidated
portfolio.
2 COURSE LEARNING OUTCOMES
2.1 Learning Outcome 1: Explain reasons why organisations adopt Project Management
Methodologies
Summary
In the course conducted in the first week we were provided with a general idea about the project
management and the major reasons which lies behind the adaptation of the various kind of project
management methodologies by the organizations. The understanding of the importance of the project
management was quite interesting along with the reasons which lie behind the adaptation of the
project management by organizations of various sizes in order to implement any type of project in a
successful way. Along with the passing of time during the course I also learnt about the various kind
of benefits that an organization can get by making use of the Project management methodologies

which would be associated with helping in the making of plans in an effective way along with
controlling the various kind of projects in an organization.
In this course I have also understood the importance that project planning is having. The main reason
which si responsible for the adaptation of the project management methodologies is that the by
having a proper project management methodology the planning would become much easier. I also
understood the fact that project management is also associated with helping a lot in overcoming the
various type of challenges that are faced by the project. After this course I was also capable of having
a clear idea about the various reasons lying behind the adaptation of the project management by
organizations of various sizes.
Evidence
I was associated with working with a software manufacturing company where I was associated with
the usage of the agile project management methodology for various kind of projects that the
organization is having. In the agile project amangemet methodology there exists testing in each and
every pahse of the project which is very important. While attending the course I also gained a
theoretical knowledge about the need of having a project management methodology in various type of
organizations.
2.2 Learning Outcome 2: Critically analyse the impact of Project Management
Methodologies upon stakeholders
Summary
After gaining a knowledge about the basic concept of project management I have understood the fact
that a significant role is played by the stakeholders. So it can be stated that making choices regarding
the selection of proper project management methodology would be having a huge impact over the
stakeholders involved in the project. The project management is also associated with ensuring the
creation of a proper communication plan which is to be made for the project in order help in the easy
propagation of the information along with the progress report of the project to the stakeholders of the
project. During this course I also understood the fact that the project management methodology is
associated with playing an integral role I the proper project planning along with the execution of the
project. One of the important part is the management of the stakeholders which would be associated
with having a huge impact upon the stakeholders involved in the project.
The management of the project is a challenging task so the choice of involving the stakeholders can
be considered to be very obvious. During the course we have also been associated with analysing the
role that is played by the stakeholders and this can be considered to be an integral part of the
project.so the choice of the project management methodologies are expected to have a huge impact
over the stakeholders who are involved in the project.
Evidence

The course has been associated with providing help in the process of gathering practical
knowledge about the importance of the stakeholders in a project. There is a need of managing
the stakeholders who are involved in the project and they are associated with playing an
integral role while ensuring the stakeholders that they are informed about every processes
involved in a project in a proper time. This course has also been associated with helping me
understand the importance of the stakeholders in the projects along with the impact on the
choice of selecting the right project management methodology.
2.3 Learning outcome 3: Explain and justify the major elements of a Project
Management Methodology that might meet the needs of an organisation
Summary
Once the course have been completed I have understood the fact that the major element of the
project that is to be adopted by the organization for the purpose of managing the project is the
proper scheduling and the management of the project. Another significant role is played by
the project management is the timely completion of the project within a budget which has
been allocated. And for doing this it is very much important to identify the scope of the
project. So the scope of project is considered to be another important part of the project
management methodology that is to be adopted any organization. In case if the scope is not
identified in a proper way then the project might get delayed or might get executed in an
improper way. After this course I have also understood the fact the planning acts a very vital
role in the success of the project. This is important because it plays a very important role in
the implementation of the project. One of the important elements of project planning is
proper requirements identification and gathering.
Evidence
From the lectures a wide knowledge has been gained regarding the different aspects and the
elements of the project management methodology, besides this the study materials of this
course has also be considered as a very important resource for gaining the knowledge. While
working as an intern in the software project has been greatly helpful in the process of gaining
a knowledge about the various kind of process and the necessity of gathering the information
in the project. These 12 weeks learning has been associated with providing a complete
understanding of the project management methodologies and the most important elements of
the project management methodologies. The choice of the project management methodology
depends on the type of the project and therefore the important elements of the project
methodology vary in different projects. The weekly portfolio have considerably helped me in
brushing up the theoretical knowledge of the project methodologies.

3 DISCUSSION AND CONCLUSION
Throughout 12 weeks of learning about project management methodologies, I have
understood the fundamental knowledge regarding the needs of project management
methodologies in various kind of organizations. The major reason which lies behind the
adaptation of the various kind of methodologies has also been evaluated in this report. The
project methodology is chosen according to the type of project along with the size of the
organization. Consideration of all the key element needs to be done during the choosing of
the right methodology in order to achieve success during the project which is also largely
dependent upon the approach that is taken for competing the project. By this course I have
understood the importance of the project stakeholders as well and I have also understood the
need of keeping the stakeholders engaged with the project, proper evaluation of the
communication between the team members is also to be done, the main reason for
considering the project management methodology which has increased considerably over the
years is also to be done for executing the project successfully and complete it without any
kind of problems, the project managers have the responsibility of making proper selection of
the project management methodologies which would be associated with ensuring the success
of the project.
