1PROJECT MANAGEMENT- MOBILE APPLICATION DEVELOPMENT
Answer to question 1
The main activities in the mobile application development process are as follows:
1. Negotiations- The action that will be taken in this activity is forming the team who will
take part in the application development process.
2. Planning- This activity will include making the project charter, communication
management plan, budget, schedule, risk log and project milestones (Niazi et al. 2016).
3. Development- In this activity, team meetings will be initiated for visualizing the scope of
the project, controlling the deliverables and resolving issues if any.
Answer to question 2
Agile method will be made use of in this project as this has various advantages over
the waterfall method. The main advantage is the ability to bring in changes in between the
proceedings of the project which cannot be done in case of waterfall method. This will help
the team to focus on features of the application that can provide highest value to the
customers (Matharu, Mishra, Singh and Upadhyay 2015). Following the agile methodology,
it can be ensured that customers or the target audience are also kept in mind while developing
the application.
Answer to question 3
User stories that can be extracted from this email are as follows:
1. As a fitness freak, I want to build and try this application so that this can cater to the needs
of many others like me.
2. As a dietician, I want to use this application and recommend this to my clients for its meal
planning features so that they can sit at home and keep a check on their food intake.

Answer to question 4
I will take the role of scrum master as I will take up the responsibility of coaching the
team and other stakeholders on the different processes of scrum. I think that I will be able to
handle this role as I have a good understanding of the work that has to be done thus can
certainly help the whole team to bring in optimizations in their transparency as well as
delivery flow.
Answer to question 5
The truck factor risks in this project are:
1. Flaws in the schedule- This can be a result of intangible nature as well as uniqueness of
software. This risk factor can be mitigated by properly choosing team members who have
adequate knowledge on the process involved in application development. This would also
require identifying the end members.
2. Inflation requirements- With the proceedings of the project more number of features can be
included which can be a threat to the estimations as well as the timeline of the project
(Tomanek and Juricek 2015). This risk can be mitigated of the end users and the developers
be in good contact throughout the development phase.
Answer to question 6
Successful teamwork includes the following:
1. Good communication- This is the key and team work gets successful if all the team
members can communicate properly with one another.
2. Collaboration among team members- This means each of the team members need to find
out how her skills fit with those of others in the team (Salas et al. 2015).

3. Common goals- Everyone in the team should keep in mind the goal they are working for.
Unsuccessful teamwork can be a result of lack of proper leadership of the head of the
team.
