INTRODUCTION
In present business scenario, operation management is consider to be one of the most
effective area of administration which is connected to manage the production process, improving
the business activities so that position of organisation can be improved (Beringer, Jonas and
Kock, 2013).
In this project the main aim is to provide particular information about the implementation
of operation management within Nail salon. Different stages of the PLC, important
documentation for making this work complete. Apart this reviews about effectiveness of
application to respective company via various model, concept and theories is done.
TASK 3
P3: Application of product life cycle stages
Nail Salon is one of the popular salon in the community that provide different services to
customer such as nail enhancement, manicures, pedicures, hair spa, skin smoothing etc. The
management of salon is planning to launch new services named “Advance face cure” that help in
removing of dark circle. In order to success of their project management needs to on the demand
of targeted customer that is established by administration research in market. PLC (Product life
cycle) is defined as crucial marketing concept that help to ascertain the stages of product or
services from development to devolution from market. The cycle is divided within four parts
such as initiation, planning, execution and closure (Chen, Hou and Wang, 2011).
Initiation: Management of Nail salon need to determine the business issues, actual needs
and opportunities so that services can be managed and control in better manner. At this stage
company need to figure out the objective of services and make sure that weather they are feasible
or not. In case of Nail salon, they first need to overlook the problem that could be arise while
launching new service such as large number of rivals, price issue etc. then they need to
determine the ways that help in overcoming the issue. For example they can provide additional
cream to interested customer who are willing to take the packages. Mainly the stages includes the
procedure to find out scope of business, deliverable time and the exact need for launching new
business.
Planning: This is the second stage of PLC that is related to making of effective plans that
help to survive well in the competitive market. The stage is mainly related to work statements,

objectives. Manager of Nail salon's company execute the plane and move further for the
execution . This process required timely meeting with the employees, briefing of plan and also
want review from workers which help the manager to keep on track (Drucker, 2012).
Manager of Nail salon need to build team who can lead them and provide proper long run
vision for the success. For the execution of plan, leader need to provide proper briefing which
specify that what exactly they have to do. Employees need to ensure that client will be satisfy
with the service or not. So communication is the best part to know about whether client satisfied
with the service or not. For example: - Nail salon introduce one time offer for the customers that
is first 100 clients get 20 percent discount on beauty services. Company need to manage time as
well as cost, so provide beauty services to the customers as fast they can do. Which directly
affect the quality management. Employee have to provide best quality of services with less time
ad low wastage of beauty products. Company need to manage lots of customer at the same time
with the full of quality services.
Closure: - In the final stage, work almost complete and the role of manager is going to
close. Before closing any project manager need to do few things which include the meeting of all
team members regarding project review (Mir and Pinnington, 2014.). Discussion will be on
strength or weakness of plan and the requirement of any improvement or not. This is the phase
where leader recognise the members and appreciate them regarding their work and efforts.
In the last step manager need to analyse project performance, team analysis, closure of
project and post implementation review. Project performance include that cost and benefits is
accurate or not and how project is managed. Team analysis means every member of the group
done their work or not. In the project closure, it involve the official closure of the project life
cycle. Last activity is to analyse that project is done successfully or not that is called post
