AI Summary
This project is a comprehensive unit portfolio (PPMP20012) that assesses the relevance of systems engineering to project cases, explores the impact of PM application systems on effective knowledge management and decision-making, compares manual and electronic PM systems, identifies how PM application systems assist in performance monitoring and change management, proposes appropriate PM application systems for different industries, and discusses contemporary developments in the use of these systems. The portfolio covers topics such as system thinking, knowledge management, application systems (SAP, Oracle, IBM, Microsoft), and their influence on project and organizational success. It also delves into the advantages and disadvantages of various PM systems across the project lifecycle and examines how application systems can facilitate successful project execution and communication within organizations. The project emphasizes the importance of adapting to changes and uncertainties within project management and provides insights into the evolution and application of PM tools.

3. Assess the
relevance of
systems
engineering to
project cases
From the weekly learning contents, it has been learnt that, system thinking and
knowledge management are the two complimentary approaches that are
effective for program and project success. In the last week a detail investigation
has been conducted on application systems like SAP, Oracle, IBM, Microsoft etc.
This week learning detail identifies the importance of system engineering and
impact n project and organizational success. It is also determined that the
organizational operations are successfully influenced through the knowledge
management.
Application system is a combination of user interface, business logic and a
database. The user interface is used to make proper interaction along with the
computing system. The users will be able to see different things with the
application system. The application system is comprises of set of screens,
reports and web pages. Te interfaces are sometimes input devices such as bar
codes readers, voice recognition device etc.
However, there are some application systems available those are non-visual in
interfaces. With the help of this application system data can be electronically
exchanged through network connection. It has been learnt that, system
engineering and project management are internally connected to each other.
Any existing incomplete system can be replaced with system engineering. In
order to produce the concept of organization operation project manager and
project team members must consider the recent ongoing operation and
functional activities. The regular intervals and the different management
principles are required to be followed accurately by the project team members
and managers to meet the company objectives and primary company goals and
aims.
