mining sector, information technology services, power generation and even in energy services.
Further the organization has last modifies their project management process and made
customization in the Prince2 and PMBOK methodologies almost seven years ago.

Michael Chiozza, the chairman of a company has been disappointed with the growth of
the company. The lack of modification in the project methodologies has removed the company
from the competitive market. Therefore, a team has been formed for modifying the existing
methodologies used.

The vital importance of project management is that it can be used in various and all the
domains of organization including the diversification, size and complexity of the project. The
evolutions of the project management methods and techniques have accelerated with the
development of various information technology.

division based on the time domain and the application of various techniques.

Before 1988. The project management methodologies include only the allocation of the
resources and the relation between the human resources. The projects are being developed based
on the work break down structure.

application. PERT and CPM tools are widely used in managing and controlling the projects.
Between 1980-199, software technologies were being included in the project
management process.

subdivided in to four major phases namely, project initiation, project planning, project execution

Project planning phase: In the project planning phase, the financial plan, quality plan and
plan for executing the project needs to be developed.

A lesson learned session needs to be included within the project for highlighting the
events and things that went wrong as well as wrong for the particular project. The sole
documentation of the lesson learnt fails to provide the detailed information faced by the project
team.
