Working on project is really a most knowledgeable opportunity of a person, it gives chance
to prove own capabilities and gain new experiences. In this regard, guidance of professionals is
important in project management for both managers and team-members are important. It shows
path and particular direction to work as per accordance of requirement (Baker and et. al., 2015).
The learning procedure, planning process, formulation of aims and objectives, strategies, proper
guidelines as well as practices are some main aspects which can be utilized by team-members.
By working on present project which was my first assignment, as a team-leader, I was able to
learn certain code of ethics and better practices to provide guidance to group-members. I have
given task to make a presentation on a specific function of an organisation by which it gains
sustainability in marketplace. With this assistance, I have to work within a team having 5
members and lead them to gain achievement of project aims and objectives. The knowledgeable
areas under project management plan (PMP) which I have learnt are scope, time, quality, cost,
resources, communication, risk and procurement (Valentino and Reardon, 2015). All these
components are considered as main aspects in PMP without which we cannot obtain desired
outcomes in pre-determined time.
Under this assignment, I have learnt about integration of project management by
understanding various approaches required for manage the project. It includes preparation of
documentation plan which covers research area, roles and responsibilities of each member,
different methodologies to collect data and more (Basturkmen, 2014). Furthermore, the most
beneficial approach for presentation in computer related project was agile approach of
management. With this regard, I was got reason about why project-makers made plan and fail to
achieve success. It shows importance of pessimistic planning, optimisation of resources and time
management. These things made me able to estimate time required for completing each activity
as well as way to monitor and control the same. I learnt importance of both concepts that are-
Work breakdown structure and critical path method of framing each activity in a definite time
period.
As it was my first project which I have to done with some group members who have own
code of ethics to do an activity. Therefore, it arise conflict of interest within team-members.
Another critical component which I have faced is managing and optimising limited sources for
project completion. Thus, guidance of professionals and learning process has given me good

insights of conflicts can be resolved and resources procured for optimisation. In this regard, I
have analysed the importance of secondary resources where solution regarding any problem can
be discovered easily by searching data on different websites. On internet applications, I have
obtained relevant information through reading perceptions of different authors who have given
their viewpoint on the same (Flores, Kleyn and Menken, 2015). From books and journals, I have
read about some managerial and leadership theories which helps in managing conflicts and
developing collaboration among team-members. For procurement resources and managing the
conflicts, I have learnt various approaches of management. It includes behavioural, classical,
contingency and other main approaches. Among them, I have adopted concept of behavioural
approach which states management as leading, motivating and communicating in effective
manner for team development. This approach also assists to adopt participative or democratic
style of leadership which allows leaders to include all members in decision making procedure.
This procedure helps in developing confidence in each member and allows them to share opinion
for better achievement of project objectives. Thus, I have learnt about the concept of leadership
and management that both are critical aspect under project management, team development as
well as motivation of team members. Through reading books and journals, exposure to
leadership styles and guidance of professionals, have helped me to adopt the best style for
employing in management of assignment.
After completing this project, the main problem which I have faced is to give presentation in
front of my seniors and professionals. It was my first presentation so, I have felt little bit low
confident and nervous. But with cooperation of team-members I have got success in presenting
myself in good manner. If I have got opportunity to work on other project and I will take it as a
challenge as well as give my best efforts for completing the same. Now I have become much
able to presenting myself in front of seniors and give presentation on any topic more efficiently.
