1. Overview of the project
The paper mainly focuses on the project that is undertaken in order to relocate a
family from the Queensland Sunshine Coast to Perth. The family who are engaged with the
relocation project mainly comprises of 4 members in which two are adults and two of them
are children of age 5 and age 9. Moreover the relocation is mainly needed as Jeff has got a
new job as a marketing director in Perth and therefore he wants to relocate from the place to
Perth. For relocation, it is necessary to vacate the present house by 20th January and then
shifting to the new house after the new house will be successfully commenced by 27th
January. As Jeff does not have relatives in the city of Perth therefore it is quite important to
make some changes so that they can be easily shift to the new house. It is analyzed that the
budget that is required for the purpose of relocation will be within $15,000.
2. Criteria and assumptions used for the milestone plan
The assumptions as well as criteria that are mainly used for developing the milestone
plan as well as the task list of the project are mainly elaborated below:
Budget: The project manager mainly assumes that the work activities that needs to be
executed for completing the project of relocation will be successfully finished within the
budge of around $15,000. It is quite necessary to finish the entire project within the
sponsored budget so that the problem of budget overflow does not occur within the project.
Resources: The resources that are generally needed in order to successfully relocate
from Queensland to Perth will be easily available. With the help of the resources,, the project
manager will be capable of moving the entire family with their belonging on time to the new
house in the city of Perth.

Infrastructure: The project management who is mainly involved with th project of
relocation mainly make a assumption according to which the entire infrastructure of the new
house will be ready by 27th January and therefore the family can be able to shift to the new
house within that date. This helps in reflecting that the children will be able to join the school
on 31st which is quite necessary for them.
Time: It is assumed by the project manager that the resources that are identified for
the project will be present and will be able to handle the activities of the project quite
effectively so that the family can be able to relocate from Queensland to Perth successfully.
3. Milestone plan
The milestone plan for the project is provided in the appendix 1.
4. Lists of tasks and responsible person for each task
The list of tasks and the responsible person who is mainly involved with that task is
generally showcased in appendix 2.
5. Gantt chart
The Gantt chart which is developed for the relocation project is mainly reflected in
appendix 3.
6. Details of all the adjustments
The adjustment or changes that are required to be done in order to achieve the
objective of the project is mainly elaborated below:
Change in project time: It is analyzed that the family needs to vacate their present
house by 20th January but they are not able to move to their new house by 20th January as the
commencement process of the new house will be started on 27th of January. It is reflected that

Jeff does not have any family member in Perth but it is quite necessary for the children’s of
Jeff to be present on 31st January in their school. Therefore, crashing is done within the
project in order to reduce the project time. The project time is reduced so that the
commencement of the new house will be done within 20th January so that the family can be
able to move to their new house easily.
Change in project resources: It is found that in order to complete the work of the
project in short time so that the commencement of the project must be done by 20th January
such that the family can be able to move to their new house quite easily. For this, the human
resources of the project have to work more. Thus, it is found that that the resources who are
mainly involved with the project needs to work for extra hour by doubling their effort in
order to complete the commencement of the new building earlier.
The changes or adjustment that is done within the project schedule that is provided
below with the help of crashing is generally showcased in yellow colour. The table helps in
reflecting the changes that are done in the project duration as well as within the resources of
the project.

7. Personal reflection
I have been engaged within the project that focuses on the relocation of a family from
Queensland to Perth as Jeff who is the head of the family has got a new job in the position of
managing director in Perth and therefore he wants to move to Perth with his full family. After
involving within this project I have analyzed that use of proper principles of project
management are quite effective in handling the project during critical situations. For
successfully manages a project, a project manager must have number of abilities include
leadership, management as well as proper communication. I have analyzed that the
assumptions that are made during the initial phase of the project is quite helpful in executing

the project successfully. In addition to this, I have found the adjustments that are generally
made in the project helps in successful relocation of the family however handling of change
management during critical situation is considered as one of the major challenge. The
changes that are required within the project must be identified then analyzed for
understanding its impact and after getting proper approval it must be implemented
successfully.
The skill or knowledge that I have achieved after undertaking this project will be used
by me in the future for handling difficult projects. The information or the capability of
assumption criteria for the project is one of the crucial things in project which requires
experience. Moreover, the steps that are needed to be followed by conducting the change
management will be used by me in the future projects for handling the needed changes within
the projects. I have gained knowledge about the use of proper tools as well as processes for
managing the changes in the project ad within the project team. Moreover, as change
management mainly refers to oversee the project team for successfully incorporate all the
changes that are required within the project for achieving the project goals is necessary.
Therefore, from the entire project, it is reflected that the knowledge as well as experience that
I have got with the help of this project will be helpful for me and will guide me to complete
my future projects quite successfully.
