INTRODUCTION
Project Management can be explained as the process of performing any of the specific
task in the specified manner. It is necessary to understand that whenever any of the project is
being conducted proper guidelines should be followed. Also, it is essential that proper
understanding should be there among the team which is going to conduct the project. In context
of the report, it will be prepared on the basis of assessment-1 where there is discussion about
solar company. It is essential to understand that in any of the situation project manager should be
able to perform their part of work within the given time period.
Here, in assessment two, different question will be addressed which will related with
execution and control where it will be explained in detail that how project will be executed and
managed with the help of PRINCE 2 approach. On the other side, reflective writing will be there
where major focus will be upon the way of approaching within the whole project and what are
the main issues and how they were addressed.
MAIN BODY
Execution and control – how well the project is executed and managed, along with 50
demonstrating knowledge of the PRINCE2 approach.
In this present project, there are different questions which will addressed but before
addressing them whole of this project is based on Sun oriented project plan where it will be
focused that how maximum number of solar plants can be installed within the premises of office.
This will certainly allow to save natural resources and even solar power plant will be effective in
use as well. For installing this, different factors have been considered in assessment first such as
stakeholder concern, different types of risk association with whole of this project and many more
(Sheffield, Sankaran and Haslett, 2012). The main objective is to install the solar plant system
to offices and to promote the green production and activities at a higher speed. The time period
which has been selected for the project is six months where total investment will be of 50000
Euros.
Execution and Control of the project: In any of the project, it is necessary to
understand that execution stage has a huge importance as it guides that how any of the work is
needed to be performed. The project manager has the role to show their importance in project as

they are required to check whether each of the steps are being performed according to
requirement or not. In context of the respective project of planning solar power plants in office
premises, it is necessary for project manager to take the help of Gantt Chart, Work Breakdown
Structure as it is the process which can guide that whether work is performed as per the
requirement or not (Edkins and et al., 2013). For performing work in the systematic manner, it is
necessary that proper communication should be there among the members or stakeholder so that
chances of attaining goals and target increases automatically. In order to plant solar plant within
the premises of offices, PRINCE-2 model has been applied which has been discussed below in
detail:
PRINCE-2 Model for Project Management
PRINCE-2 is an acronym which is helpful for any of the projects within the controlled
environment. It is one of the process which simply allowed to manage any of the project in a
systematic manner which is quite important for completing any of the project within the specific
time period. The model is helpful for the business entity which are in public sector but at the
same time it is also important for private sector as it makes working condition easy and faster.
The main benefit of PRINCE-2 is that it simply allows to bring control within the project due to
which chances of performing any of the work within the project increases (Greiman, 2013). In
context of the above project, planting solar power plant to different office premises PRINCE2
process can be helpful as it allows to meet out the objective of the project. The detail process has
been discussed below in a systematic manner.
ï‚· Start Up the Project: It is the primary stage where it is necessary for the project
manager to determine whether they are able to conduct project as per the requirement or
not. Here, it will be necessary that project should be approved by the project board where
detail stage will be explained within the project. In context of the sun oriented plant, each
of the stages are defined as the project manager and they are needed to ensure that all of
the activity are being performed as per the requirement (Pritchard, 2013).
ï‚· Initiate the Project: This is among the crucial stage among sun-oriented plant as proper
risk and benefits must be identified so that any of the problem can be resolved within the
specific time period. Here, major risk within the solar power plants is time and managing
budget. It is needed because it can certainly become helpful in performing the work in

specified manner (Floricel, and et al., 2014). On the other side, major benefit is that
company has already conducted similar form of project which can make work easier and
faster for them.
ï‚· Direct the Project: Here, it will be crucial for the project manager for solar plant system
within the premises of office to guide each of the employees o subordinates that how any
of the work is required to be performed. While briefing the project to different sub-
ordinates, project manager can even benefit as they can easily identify about the weaker
area where they need to being improvement (Tenera and Pinto, 2014).
ï‚· Control Stage: After completing all of the above stage, this can become one of the most
important stage for the project manager who is managing each of the activity related to
solar plant system. It is because manager has the role to monitor each of the activity
which are being performed (Eskerod, Huemann and Savage, 2015). It is equally necessary
that manager needs to review each of the activity for identifying whether company can
perform effectively or not.
ï‚· Manage Project Delivery: It is the stage in which it is necessary for the manager to
deliver the project on specific time period. It will be important for the project manager of
the project to ensure that they are able to perform their work in specified manner so that it
can get completed on given time period (Kostalova, Tetrevova and Svedik, 2015).
ï‚· Manage Stage Boundary: In any of project there are certain boundaries which must be
overviewed on every short time period. It will be crucial for the business organization to
understand that whenever this particular project is conducted planning should be done
from initial stage to closure. In the same manner, it is necessary for the manager of solar
power system that they must be able to do proper planning that how any of the work
needs to be done and what are the criteria where they must focus so that goals and target
can be accomplished (Conforto and Amaral, 2016).
ï‚· Close the Project: This is the file stage where it will be necessary for the project
manager to ensure that goals and target has been achieved within the given deadline.
Here, project manager of the solar power plant project should be able to ensure that work
has been conducted as per the requirement of client and even feedback can be obtained in
this particular stage so that improvement can be brought within the future project (Niazi
and et al., 2016).

This is the complete approach which can be followed by the project manager of solar power
system with the help of PRINCE2 approach. This approach can certainly benefit in performing
the work in specified manner as project can be completed within the time period of six months
with the help of project budget of 50000 Euros.
You will be required to demonstrate academic competence, reflective practice and 50 execution
of role/responsibilities in the project team through the End of Project report while adopting a
structured and concise approach.
It is necessary to understand that whenever any of the project is being conducted there are
number of activities which is needed to be conducted. Whenever there is different activity which
is needed to be performed which means that overall percentage of burden increases
automatically. In order to reduce the burden within the project, it is necessary for any of the
project manager to ensure that they are able to perform their work according which is quite
important in current scenario. In the similar manner where I was performing my duty or
responsibility within the project there were different project which come across but at the closure
of project, the result was favorable.
In this project the main objective of the project was to plant solar power system within
the premises of office within the time period and focus towards green production activity. The
objective was achieved successfully as budget which has been prepared by the project manager
was helpful in conducting each of the activity. As time period was selected for 6 months which
was considered and for that work was reviewed at different time phase due to which company
was able to attain its goal and target. Whenever any of the project is being conducted, different
benefits are obtained such as I understood that proper planning should be there within the project
because it is the only way through which any of the project manager can allow themselves to
attain goals and target. There were number of things which were not expected such managing
fund as per the requirement (Kerzner, 2015). It is important in any of the project that work
should be performed as per the requirement of budget but that is quite difficult job and in case of
this project this was not the problem in any of the circumstances.
After my detail analysis to the project, I can easily say that project remained within the
scope. It is because there was rarely any sort of issue which were created in the project. In simply
words the project was performed according to the time scale and for that Gantt chart was quite
Document Page
helpful because it made working condition easier and faster. Even the budget which was
prepared was sufficient for completing the project in successful manner. In addition, the best part
of the project was that manager was able to take any of the decision of own which is quite
important in any of the scenario. This means that overall project went well without having any
sort of problem or issue.
It was among those projects which was quite important but at the same time it was
necessary that all of the activity was being performed as per the requirement. But I found that
there was a requirement of conducting some of the activity in a different manner so that project
can be performed in more specified manner. At beginning there were no plan that any of the
Gantt Chart or WBS will be prepared but due to the difficulty in performing the work on given
time period changes were made in which it was necessary to ensure that work is being performed
as per the requirement of the project.
From this project, number of things were learned which were quite important because it
was those things which can easily allow me to perform effectively in future time period. Some of
the main things which were learned in the project were planning which is quite necessary
because it is the only thing which guides that how any of the work needs to be done in a
specified manner. Secondly, this project tough that guidance to the sub-ordinates is quite crucial
because it is the process through which they can being improvement within their working style.
Also, some of the area which can be improved is preparing Gantt Chart because it was
completely new procedure of dividing time of performing any of the work. If I could be able to
bring improvement in this respective section then there will be higher possibility that goals can
be obtained effectively in a very short time period. Also, proper training should be given to the
employees who are major part of the project because they are the one who can simply allow the
organization to accomplish their goals in a specified manner.
Whenever any of the project is conducted there are number of risks which are associated
in it which must be considered. It is essential to understand that in this whole project the main
risk was to complete the project on given time along with the project which was prepared. Both
of this risk was not identified at earlier stage due to which it was not easy for me to perform my
task in specified manner (Brewer and Dittman, 2018). But this risk factor could have been
identified at earlier stage through which performing project in specified could have been

effective. Once I had identified, changes were brought because it certainly taught that performing
any of the activity by identifying its nature is quite necessary. If this problem would not have
been identified then there could have been huge problem because it would not have been easy to
complete the given work on given time period. Both of this issue were not avoidable because
time and budget has always a huge importance because it guides that how goals can be attained
within the given time period with specific budget.
CONCLUSION
After having the detail discussion on the file, it can be concluded that monitoring and
controlling is necessary step which must be considered by any of the project manager. Talking
about the business organization, and their project manager they are needed to apply PRINCE 2
model in an effective manner because it allows to conduct the work in specified manner. Overall,
whenever any of the project is needed to conduct, there are number of issues or risk factor which
are included and it is essential that all of this problem must be addressed by analyzing the issue
and their available solution.
