This report presents a project management plan for the refurbishment of the Roehampton Campus, including key project management stages such as initiation, planning, implementation, controlling, and closing. The report begins with a Project Initiation Document (PID) outlining project details such as budget, timeline, objectives, and risks. It then provides a stakeholder analysis identifying key stakeholders and their roles. A risk register is developed to identify potential risks and mitigation strategies. A Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) is presented to break down the project into manageable tasks with durations and dependencies. The report highlights the importance of strong leadership in project success and recommends the Waterfall methodology for its structured approach. The report concludes by summarizing the key findings and recommendations, emphasizing the use of the Waterfall methodology for the event launch and suggesting the involvement of stakeholders throughout the project. The report also includes references to relevant sources.

Path 1: 1 + 2 +4 + 9+ 10 + 21+22
= = 1+14+7+2+95+1+10 = 130 days
Path 2: 1 + 2 +5 + 9+ 10 + 21+22
=1+14+7+2+95+1+10 = 130 days
Thus the minimum time to complete the project is 130 days .
Task 4a- Importance of strong leadership
ï‚· An effective leadership will help the business to increase productivity and good leaders
will delegate task and roles in effective manner in order to attain objectives.
ï‚· Leadership also helps to boost the employee morale and this in turn leads to increase the
productivity (Oprins, Frijns and Stettina, 2019). Hence it will help to foster positive
workplace mentality too.
ï‚· Having a strong leadership will help to sort out complex issues and manage the work.
Through good leadership skills, a person may easily motivate their employees to perform
the best to accomplish defined objectives.
Task 4b- Methodologies
PRINCE2 Methodology: It is the methodology that divides the entire project into
manageable and controllable stages. This method is actually recognized for its project's control
and breakpoints and also allow to succeed in a contractual framework as well.
7

Waterfall Methodology: On of the oldest and traditional project management
methodology which is based upon different sequence of steps i.e. planning, analysis, design,
implementation, testing and maintenance (Kerzner, 2019).
Agile Methodology: This method is suitable for software and IT industry, agile is an
iterative and incremental framework that is used for short development cycles whose main focus
in on continuous improvement in the development of a product.
PRINCE2 Methodology: Waterfall
Methodology:
Agile Methodology:
Advantages This method used extensive
documentation which assist
in various aspects i.e.
performance appraisals, risk
mitigation and effective
corporate planning
Easy track of task
dependence and provide
accurate results. Also,
extremely easy project
knowledge transfer.
Flexible method,
project execution is
not affected with
limited end product
knowledge.
Disadvantages Team takes enough time to
accept the changes, it takes
much time for the
implementation of a project.
Sudden changes in the
project are difficult to
manage. Not suitable
for complex project.
Lack of predictability
and lack of
understanding may
leads of project failure.
Recommendation: From the above, it is recommended to project manager adopt Waterfall
methodology because it can easily track the task dependencies and completely based upon the
steps. That is why, in order to launch an event, it is quite essential to complete the work with
proper sequence and also helps to meet the objectives.
CONCLUSION
By summing up above report it has been concluded that in order to launch new event,
project manager may use Waterfall Methodology. Further, using defined milestone, the event
will be finished and project manager should include all the stakeholder in order to complete the
project and also, involve them to take proper decision. Lastly, different risk are also identified
that should be reduce my applying mitigation strategies.
