Summary
Throughout the learning course of project management, the main thing that I have learnt
is that, in order to govern and lead any project towards the primary project objectives, goal and
aim the any project required to be managed well. The project management prcatices is
comprises of different phases like project initiation, planning, project execution, monitoring and
control and project closure. I have learnt that each of the project management phases are
internally connected to each other and the output of one phase is inserted as the input for the next
phase. The project supervisor and the team must follow the project management principle
throughout the project development life cycle period. Though, before commence of any project
the supervisor should approve the project charter.
I feel that the responsibility of the project team is to accomplish the project within the
assigned timeline and budget without to avoid overrunning budget, over allocation of resources
and time as well. Different project development life cycle such as agile, waterfall, scrum etc are
there, based on the project details including types and size the project developers should select ne
development model to implement project. I have realized that in order to implement any project
the project supervisor and team associates are required to use proper managerial tools and
techniques as well. In addition to this, different project management software tool are also there
those are widely used b the project supervisor and their associates to meet the project objectives.
The project associates are also required to track the project progress to make ensure its
sustainability and success as well.

Application
For successful project design and implementation, project management application is also
essential. Time and cost management are the two most essential knowledge areas helpful for
project success. For implementation if any project time is referred to as a commodity. Therefore
proper management of time will increase the overall value of the project and business as well.
Correct utilization of time includes people, resources. Money and also related sub resources. It is
determined that success and failure of any project is dependent on the way project knowledge
areas are applied by the project associates and supervisor as well.
It has been defined that, proper application of project management practices helps to
reducing project complexity and other probable risks as well. In addition to this, it can also be
said that project management is an amalgamation of different project components in terms of
leadership, teamwork, operational control etc. Each of these components is essential for the
project success. Project management is a professional discipline used for managing and
implementing project successfully. The project management curriculum includes proper project
management processes, defining roles and responsibility, stakeholder management, risk
management, managing proper project communication, proper quality management and business
strategy management.
Challenges
Besides application benefits different challenges are also there associated to project
management practices and application. These challenges can interrupt expected project success
and demand of the consumers as well. The potential challenges that may interrupt the project
progress are as follows:

Lack of skills among the project team associates: It has been defied that lack of skills and
knowledge of the project team members may interrupt the project progress. The supervisor
should arrange needful professional technical and non technical training for the associates to
increase their knowledge boundary.
Improper budget estimation: The project supervisor and the finance manager need to estimate
the project budget before initiating the project. The budget must be estimated considering all the
specific project requirements. If the project budget is not estimated appropriately then the project
owner may face risks of overrunning budget.
Insufficient resource allocation: It has been defined that, in order to accomplish any project the
project manager and resource manager should allocate sufficient physical and human resources
to avoid issues of overrunning time and budget. If proper resources are not allocated then
activities will not be completed within assigned time and budget.
Overrunning time: Based on complexity of each project activity the project team members and
others are required to assign project time. As soon as the time is estimated it become the
responsibility of the project team members to accomplish the project activity within that assigned
time only. However, with changing time proper change management program is also required to
be implemented by the project team associates. The project activity should be periodically
reviewed based on that change management plan is also needed to be implemented.

Assignment 2: Project Management: Building and Executing Strategy –
Scenario 1
The project supervisor and the team associated to any project should design and
implement proper building and execution strategies and must check the progress of the project
periodically.
G1. After five week of the project execution it has been determine that the team
engagement is deteriorating mainly for remote team members. In order to improve the situation
the project team supervisor should implement an appropriate communication strategy. Advanced
communication strategy will help the project team members to keep themselves to their job
responsibilities and roles. It will also help the associates to become good speaker as well as a
good listener. Both verbal and written communication are helpful for overall organizational and
project success.
Open communication will provide an independent platform to the project team members
to make sure that they are successfully sharing all the ideas and creativity to each other. Besides
communication, process change management and project management method application are
the best suited way that will help to improve the current operational and functional situation. The
change management process that are to be implemented by the project team associates for
scenario improvement include process analysis, process improvement, redefining process and
process measurement. It will improve the overall operational and functional business processes.
Not only this but also, the project team members will feel much engaged to their assigned roles
and responsibilities if the communication proves is improved. In other words, it can be said thatn

continuous improvement plan is the best suited application that will successfully improve the
business situation.
G2. Besides proper communication the other thing that has been identified by the project
manager and team members are no such timely updates regarding the project status. If the project
status is found to be not at all clear to the owner and other project associates then the application
will also not be conducted as per the requirement.
The small adjustments that could reduce the issues of different project status reporting are
motivating the project team members, inspiring team members, development of community, and
creation of people driving policies. It has been determined that proper project management
prcatices and use of accurate project knowledge areas will improve the project stats reporting
format. The other aspects on which the project supervisor and the team members needs to give
their focus are infographs, objective setting, real time application, analysis and adoption, In
addition to this, the other ways that needs to be followed by the project associates to improve the
scenario include use of real time online data, use of printed reports, raw numbers and visual
representations. These data can be updated both manually and using software as well. Therefore,
in order to improve the identified risks and likelihood the associates must use proper software
instead of manual status reporting. The software must be used because it will help to save time
and other operational efforts, Apart from that it can also give opportunities like data backup and
disaster recovery. In addition to this, reward and employees incentive structure is needed to be
improved to improve the overall operational and functional activities.
