Project management is define as set of practices which are conducted by an organization
in order to meet objective and goal in particular time duration. This will include several activities
or practices such as initiating, conducting planning, execution, controlling, accomplishment of
work (Bucero and Englund, 2015). Organization selected for this assignment is Essential
Clothing Company, which is situated at Uttoxeters, United Kingdom. They offer wide range of
clothing, decorative and gift items at very attractive as well as affordable price. Now they are
planning to produce new website and intranet which help them in conducting effective internal
communication. Topics included in report are introduction and meaning of project, its
characteristics and role of project manager. Along with this it will also include application of
theoretical framework and evaluation of composition and management of teams in project
environment.
MAIN BODY
1. Define a project, its characteristics and the role of the project manager.
A project is define as activities which are conducted in order to meet specific standard of
the procedure which is adopted for developing a particular products and services (Burke, 2013).
It is also consider as collaboration of activities that include research as well as design work for
gaining unique outcome. In respect of Essential Clothing Company, the project decided by their
project manager is development of new website and intranet that will help them conducting
effective internal communication. For this it is essential for respective company project manager
to consider several characteristics of project while developing their project, some of them are
mentioned below:-
 It is necessary for Essential Clothing Company project manger to develop a unique
project as well as it should not be used again in the same way (The seven key

execution in which project manager of respective company will execute the process i.e.
development of website and intranet and then at forth stage they will control at which they find is
website and intranet is working properly or not. If the process will conduct successfully then last
stage will be closure at which project manager will close the project.
Methodologies-
Project manager of respective company may adopt Agile and waterfall model because
these are more appropriate for project which are based on internal outcome. Agile is consider as
combination of iterative as well as incremental procedure model that will focus on adaptability of
