INTRODUCTION
Project management refers to the activity of initiating, planning, executing, controlling
and closing the work of a team or group to accomplish particular aims and objectives and meet
specific criteria within set time frame. The major challenge of project management is to
accomplish all of the project aims within provided confinements (Coulter and et. al., 2016). It is
more crucial practice which is essential in context with enhanced and effective accomplishment
of set activities at pre defined standards. The below project is based on development of a project
management plan in context of building a house. The report will include the information about
the execution and control of the models and approaches which are used for building a house
project. Further, will discuss about the objectives which are set by the management of the firm,
that they are accomplished on time of not. Changes and benefits will also discuss that were made
in the run up to completion of the project.
MAIN BODY
Execution and control the project by using effective models and approach
To manage and control the project, PRINCE 2 Methodology was used so that the project
regarding building a house can be run effectively and appropriately. Because it is an important
project management tool which include various principles and activities which must be accepted
by people and connected with improving and executing a construction process. So the project is
managed and executed well. The project manger implemented this methodology so that they can
make effective construction of a house which included basement along with 5 rooms. The project
was effectively executed because by with the use of PRINCE 2 model, the project manager
firstly form a team which provided it effective contribution in running the project. In this team,
each person was responsible for their allotted duties and responsibilities. The individual also
performed their roles in effective manner by exciting their responsibilities. For example, the
project managers were effectively manage the task work and provided required resources on
time. Other people like contractors, lead consultants and architects etc. also were performed their
duties in crucial manner.
The project of building a house was also controlled in well manner because the project
manner set objectives for it (Croitoru and et. al., 2016). They worked for building a house which
is sustainable, effective and constitutional design along with long term lastingness in the

structure. Before starting the work on this project, they did deep investigation to complete this
projection in efficient manner. For example, they researched that what new techniques they can
use, they did investigation in context of instruments and regarding construction process. After
that they scheduled the project and started to work on it. The projection was controlled t and
executed well because the team and project manger were aware with all the objective of the
project and needed resources.
End of project report
It refer to the closing of the project or an end of the project is utilised by project managers
and their group at the end of a projection to monitor how the project performed. When the people
of a company perform their roles and responsibilities in context of completion of a projection
and when the project accomplish its objectives, it known as end of project (Grandoni and et. al.,
2019). The project was completed in effective manner because the project managers previously
set objectives, prepare budget, frame team and set time frame for completion the project. The
required resources for building a house were provided by the managers to the team members on
time. The projection administrators also provided a pathway for the entire building project to the
project management group so that they can work in a structured way by following provided
instructions.
The people which were in the team, were skilled and have information regarding these
kind of projection. So completion of the project was easy and constructing the building by
fulfilling set objectives. This project had wide scope because in it, the project management team
implemented new technologies and equipments which would be utilised to perform the
construction. The organisation was also implemented techniques like automation that helped in
minimising issues and problems within construction procedure. The end of the project is good
because the project managers accomplished their desired results because they used high level of
safety hazards, ineffective technology equipments etc. to provide project of risks and threats of
natural disaster and others. These all things made their contribution in constructing a good
building and completing the projection in adequate manner.

The objective of the project report was to construct a building which is able to offer a
sustainable, effective and essential design along with long time durability in the framework
(Lauster, 2016). The main purpose of the project was building a house which was constructing

by using new technologies and equipments and able to provide satisfaction in term of long
sustainability and durability. This objective was accomplished by the projection administration
group because the people who were working in the team regarding this project had effective
skills and information about new technologies which they were used in building the house. They
also utilised new equipments so that they can fulfilled the objectives and project needs (Lench,
Bench and Perez, 2017). Another reason of accomplished the objective in well defined manner
was that the project management team worked by using their all efforts and project mangers
conducted research regarding constriction techniques and equipments that were used for building
a house. Pre-planned reading fund, time and labour was also a crucial factor which also help in
accomplishing the project objective in effective way.
For completing a specific task and work, the time was also setted by the project manager
like site preparation and grading, they set 3 weeks time-frame and others. It was beneficial for
the workers and team members because the people divided their task and work as per the time
frame so that it was complete on time. It was good for accomplish the objective and the project
management team was achieved the motive of the project on time in desired way.

This project was in context of building a house and provided various benefits which are
expected in context of building as well as employees or team members. During the the time of
constructing a building, project management team used high level of safety so that the building
sustain till long term. For this, they used better quality raw material, technologies and
equipments so that they can constructed a good house which was able to satisfy the users need of
safety regrading natural disasters and others. In context of employees or teammates, the project
managers also fulfilled their safety need by providing information to them about new
technologies which they were used during the time of building a house. For this, they provided
training and development sessions so that the team members had clear information in context of
utilisation of new equipments and technologies. It helped them in providing safety instructions
that how they would used them during the time of working.
The project administration team also provided training to the individual who were
working in team to deal with the risk and threats which were generated in their work during the
the time of executing it (Lessing and Brege, 2015). It was also provide benefits to them because
to had the solution to deal with the issues, they could complete their work in set time frame or in

appropriate manner. Training and development sessions was a crucial benefits for the team
members because it helped them in improving and developing their skills, knowledge and
competencies which was good for their personal as well as professional development.
Did the project stay within its original scope? This is the project’s timescale, the budget and the
projects tolerance
Yes, the project stayed within its original scope because the task and work were set and
completed in set time-frame. For example, the project manager set time of 3 weeks for site
preparation and grading, 2 weeks for construction of foundation, 2 weeks for framing, 20 weeks
for development of superstructure, 3 weeks for HVAC, insulation and Drywall, 2 weeks for
painting and electrical finish and 1 week for flooring, plumbing and finishing installations. For
the investment of the capital and fund, the project manager designed a budget for the different
activities of the projection which consisted cost and fund (Lessing, 2015). For instant, the
administrators of this project divided the investment and expenses in to two types of costs like
hard construction costs and soft construction cost. Total hard construction cost of this project
was £680700 in which £46800 for foundation, drywall, framing, roofing and flooring etc. Where
as £60000 for plumbing, safety or security system and electrical, 53200 for furnishing,
equipments and fixtures, 68000 for HVAC, 14500 for landscaping and 17000 for site operations.
Soft construction cost involved £28000 for engineers and architects fees or cost and £3900 for
salaries of the employees and team members.
So the scope of the project was stayed original because all the activities regarding
building of the house completed in set time-frame and set cost. So any kind of negative impact
did not affect the project in unfavourable manner and helped in accomplishing the major purpose
of the project.

The changes and alteration was made in context of time, budget and deliverables from the
projects. These kind of modifications were done by the project manger in business case so that
the projection regarding building a house could be completed in effective and appropriate
manner (Nielsen, 2016). These alterations were done by the project manager in original business
plan so that when they were these kind of projection future, they could complete it in more
effective manner. The project manger devised modifications in planning phases so that the

current project execution elevated and changes marked to be executed to kept up with the
objectives of the project plan (Castle Bell and et. al., 2015). They made changes in objective of
the projection in term of improvement so that the project could be complete in more effective
way. The changes were in term of quality it create positive impact on the projection in term of
constructing a house by using quality raw material, new technologies and equipments etc. Some
changes were made in business case which helped in minimising risk, tolerance level and uttered
advantages of the projection.
The change which are devised in costs, affected the budget in negative term because the
budget was designed by the project manger previously (Pukhkal and et. al., 2015). So more
investment of the cost affect them unfavourably. But it positively affected the project in term of
devising improvement or completing different activities in better manner. Some changes were
form in technologies in term of implementing new construction technology. It created favourable
impact on project and its objective because the activities of it completed by using it which
provided more satisfaction in term of sustainability and long term durability of the building.
Summarise the lessons learnt during the project, what went well and what you would do
differently next time
There were several lessons which learnt by the team members when they were working in
this project or proving their contribution for completion of the projection in adequate and
appropriate manner. When they were working on this project, they learn about various tools and
and technologies which were used in constructing a building and house. The planning which was
do by the project manager was good because the person set a specific time frame for each and
every task and work and allotted them according to employees skills and knowledge so that they
completed them in set time-frame. It was a good thing of this project which played an important
role in completing the work in on time. Investigation is another good thing was also helped in
finishing the projection timely (Saha and et. al., 2015). The team members did research regarding
their work so that they could find out the issues and risk or completed the task in more effective
manner to deal with them.
In future, if these kind of project allot to project mangers then they can prepare the
budget in more effective manner and have extra fund so that they can use it at the time of
requirement. Next time, the team members can use their more efforts and take online classes to

get information about new technologies so that they can make their effective contribution in
completion of the project.
This project was successful because the resources were provided by the managers on time
and the resources are good for building a house which helped in sustainable it till long term
(Taylor and et. al., 2015). But there are some areas which had the need of improvement like,
extra cost and time, effective training to the employees so that they can had clear information
about the technologies and use their skills in term of effective completion of the projection.
Were there any risks which you feel you could have identified earlier on in the project?
Yes, there were the major risk of safety which faced by the project administration group.
This risk was occurred due to lack of information about the new technologies and use of
equipments related to construction. So if the people used them wrong way then it affected them
negatively. Another risk are framing strategies, offering resources and others are easy things but
during the time of working in project, it felt that these things were not easy. Because constructing
a house and building there were several things required and some of them did not easy to get and
use like technologies and equipments. Before implementation and utilisation of them, it was
necessary to had information about them so that they could use in right manner or did not affect
individual unfavourably (Tobin, 2015). They were not avoidable because without using new
technologies and equipments a better and sustainable house could not be built as per the
requirement of present time users. So it was necessary to build them by implementing effective
tools and techniques which were able to fulfil different demands like safety, long term
sustainability and durability.
CONCLUSION
From the above information, it can be analysed that project management is an effective
activity of because it help in managing, controlling and executing all the project practices in
effective and efficient manner. It is quite essential in terms of adequately enhancing the scope of
the success and growth of a specific projection. It help in providing in formation that the
objective of the project is accomplished in effective manner or not. If not, then where is the
problem and assist in resolving them. If the aims of the project does not accomplish in
appropriate manner then changes can be devised to achieve desired outcomes which are able to
satisfied projection needs.
