Initial Post
Projects are different from continuing operations in their temporary nature and have
distinct results; consequently these events face timing issues (Kloppenborg, Anantatmula, &
Wells, 2018). Timing takes place throughout different project stages. In the case of Suburban
Homes Construction Project, during the early phase of the project the main problem could
have been assembling different groups of people like carpenters, designers, quality
supervisors, electricians, and construction managers work together as a team. In this essence
bring on board some experts such as electricians very early before the interior of the
construction is completely constructed could only increase the expenses incurred.
Nonetheless, lack of information regarding significant players such as quality supervisors
early in the construction could result in delaying of the project schedule. In such cases, the
solution to problems of this kind is for the project manager to identify issues related to time
early enough at the time of scheduling the project’s activities. Therefore, to realize this, the
project manager has to involve the client as well as other major team members. Similarly, in
some situations, the project manager can depend on key team players like the construction
manager in deciding the right time to bring a particular type of specialist to the project.
Towards the end of the construction project, another type of timing issue is to
recognize and reward contractors who will have potentially played a significant role in
impacting on the project schedule. The reason for rewarding contractors at the end of the
project is that these are temporary individuals who are only hired on a project basis which is
just for a restricted period (Kloppenborg, Anantatmula, & Wells, 2018). Thus, it is not
possible to guarantee them another construction project soon since it depends on the
competitiveness of the contractors. As a result, the only way to acknowledge such workers is
by recommending them to other projects which Suburban Homes Construction could be
involved in or book them for future plans or reward them for their performance.

Response post
Accordingly, to avoid issues related to time Suburban Homes Construction project
should embrace the use of a project schedule. Scheduling of the project activities is a pivotal
part of the project because it will help to determine the project’s timelines, availability of and
delivery of resources such as personnel or capital. Indeed, scheduling of the project is the
only way to manage a project, and without the schedule, the project will automatically fail
because the project lacks direction. Also, the project needs to be led by a project manager
who has experience in the scheduling and planning of the project. Since the process of project
scheduling requires time estimation, the project manager will play a vital role in this area
because they have skills regarding the duration of each activity. Furthermore, the presence of
the project manager will help to avert issues related to bring on board certain experts before
the right time when they are supposed to perform their work.
