The primary objective of this paper is to elaborate the project selection process as well
as this paper will also consist a detail elaboration related to the initial processes of the
mentioned project. In order to initiate any project it is very important to select an appropriate
project selection method which will provide effectiveness in the development of the project.
Followed by this aspect it will also explain about the importance of an appropriate project
management process in project development process. Along with that it will also describe
why the selected project is appropriate for the mentioned case scenario by comparing it with
other processes. Apart from describing the project selection process and the management
process it will also consist an assessment of the risk related to the mentioned project. Lastly,
it will conclude by providing a brief discussion based on the essentiality of this above
elaboration.
Discussion:
According to the project management book of knowledge it has been noticed that there is
a significant role of selecting an appropriate project plan for any development as an
appropriate as well as effective project plan helps the developer to understand the future
scope of the approached project as well as it is effective of organize the work process.
Followed by this in order to specify the investment which is required for the developing the
mentioned project is also very essential which can be addressed by an appropriate project
management plan. It has also mentioned that while selecting any project there are several
aspects present which needs to be accounted. According to the case scenario it has been
noticed that the objective of the approached project is to deliver such application to their
drivers which holds the capability to guide the customers as well as the drivers. Analysing the

responsibility to reduce the cost of the company by maximize the utilization of time.

profit?

 What are the possible risk present in the approached project?
 If the project is relevant to the company or not?

Considering the above mentioned aspect it has been determined that the approached
project holds a significant role in enhancing the services of Uber. The approached project is
highly effective for the customers as well as for the drivers as it helps the driers to select the
nearest passenger which will reduce the possibility of latency thus, it will maximize the
utilization of time.
Project Management Approaches:
Followed by selecting the effective project for the mentioned case scenario it is also
very essential to choose appropriate project management plan for the selected project. There
are several project management approach which includes the Waterfall model, Scrum Model,
Critical Path Method as well as the Agile Method. In order to select effective project

Waterfall Model:
This is one of the effective project management process as well as this is one of the
oldest project management methodologies. This method followed a specific sequence as this
method is highly strict about the pre-selected requirements. In order to apply this
methodology in order to develop the approached project it is very essential to have a clear as
well as effective plan since, no back tracking is possible in this project development
methodology. This method consist many steps which are described below:
 Identifying the requirements.
 Analysing the approached plan.
 Design the approached project.
 Implementing the project.
 Testing of the implemented project.
 If it passes then deployment of the implemented project.
 Maintenance of the deployed product.
However, this process is one of the oldest project management method it also holds
significant limitation which affects the project development process. Those limitation
includes the risk related to the application of this method as there is no such way for back
tracking in this method which may lead to a huge blunder. Along with that in this method is
highly restricted to the predefined plan as no change will be accounted at the middle of the
process.

Along with the waterfall method for developing any project it is also an effective
project management model which does not follows any master slave tradition. It takes the
project to the centre and proceed with the development process by involving every team
members of the project development team. Followed by the aspect it has been noticed that
this is also applicable for the mentioned case scenario.
Agile Method-
Along with the above two project development method it is also one of the effective
software project development method. This model is quite opposite of the Waterfall
methodology which is much faster and flexible as compared with other project management
approaches. One of the most significant advantages to apply this method is that it does not
demands any fixed requirements as there is a freedom for the experimenting with the
requirements. Along with that utilization of this method offers lower risk related to the
development of the final product as there is a huge chance for other project management
methods to do not address the desire goal. Along with the advantages it also consists several
limitations related to the fixed plan as in this methodology there is no fixed plan which may
affect the development process while predicting the resources as well as the man power.

workers effects the development of the approached project.
After considering the above project management plans it has been determined that
Agile methodology is more appropriate for the approached project as this project
management methodology holds the capability to effectively analyse the project scope and
requirement in order to design the approached project.

incorporate effective project management tool for developing an approached project. The
most effective project management tools are mentioned below:
Gantt Chart-
This is s type of chart in which the project development processes are scheduled.
Network Diagram-
This diagram represents the working process of the project development as well as
helps to determine the critical path for the mentioned project.
Scheduling-
This tool helps to schedule the process and the progress of the mentioned project by
which the work flow as well as the progress can be controlled.
Risk Assessment:
Followed by the above discussion related to the project management methodology as well
as the project management tool it is also very essential to assess the risk related to the
approached project.
 In order to effectively analyse the project risk it is essential to determine the risk
present in every field of the approached project.
 Followed by this, collecting feedback from the stakeholders of the project is also
