the essential aspects of the role of project management in civil engineering projects.

I have identified that the Australian road construction industry is estimated to witness
a surge of up to A$20 billion in the ongoing financial year. However, the estimations
are high still the assigned stakeholders because of their successful project delivery
capability concern the government over the successful delivery of the project. The
solution for the government may lay in the adoption of project management for
successful competition of the project. It importance of project management could be
understood by the fact that over 90% of the project professionals cite its importance
and quotes that it can change the whole structure of the organisation. However, the
need for skills and dependency over the primitive techniques of construction are
preventing the mass adoption of the projects management in these sectors.

organisation has proved its capability as a leader in the construction market and has
offered its service to the state government and other significant projects. One of the

most prominent example of the deemed organisations project is the bridge that was
developed to carry the “Melton Highway” from over the “Bendigo Railway Line”.
Other projects include enhancement of the flood immunity system of Bruce
Highway, expansion of the “Port Botany Container Terminal” for “Patrick
Stevedores” and multiple others. The adoption of project management will further
enhance the organisational successful project delivery capability.

skilled in the project management tools and techniques. Additionally, the
organisational informational resources will be required to understand the working
methodology of the organisation and plan the adopted management plan to be
compatible with the existing structure of the organisation. The inventory of the
organisation will also be needed to formulate the most suitable plan for the proposed
project. The financial resource will also prove to be crucial because adoption of the
proposed management tools and techniques may demand some financial support. The
IT infrastructure of the organisation who is adopting the proposed plan may also
demand some upgradation to become more compatible with the adopted management
strategy. Finally, the need system may also demand some physical space if the
adopted tool for project management is not based on the cloud services.
Linkages: There is significant opportunity of leverage from the deemed approach because the
project management plan will take consideration of the organisational structure and
past works to formulate the plan accordingly. The organisational information will
even assist in measuring the budget for the project and devise a plan suitable to fit in
the budget while offering quality project delivery. The ongoing projects of the
organisation can also be benefitted by adopting some key concepts from the proposed
plan that may prove to be vital in the successful delivery of the ongoing projects. The
procedures involved in the management of the civil engineering projects and hence, it
