Learning about skills of project manager
A project manager is hired for a project based on their skills as well as knowledge which is
required into the project. Based on technical knowledge, broader project management skills,
a project manager is hired. The first step to hire a project manager is to identify crucial goals
of their role.
Based on my point of view, there are essential skills which should be in the project manager
so that the project gets success and completes on time.
Communication: The project manager spends 90 percent of their time on the
communication to deliver their messages, decisions to the project team members.
Leadership: The project manager should lead and deliver the entire project work so that t
can complete on time and there is no such possibility of missing of deadline.
Team management: Apart from leading the project based on strategic perspective, the
project manager is required to manage the work from the operational point of view. The
project manager coordinates the group of teams by promoting teamwork, resolving of
project conflicts as well as evaluating the performance.
Negotiation: There are negotiation of resources, budget, schedule and creep of scope.

each organization should able to hire a
better project manager, while wring hire of

project.
Risk management: The project manager can identify the project risks and mitigate the risks
on time before it affects the time as well as budget.
When the organization selects the wrong project manager for the project, then the project is
not delivered to the client on time and within the budget. The project is not able to meet with
the project objectives and scope. The reasons behind choosing of wrong project manager
are capturing of wrong information about the person, decision making bias, not recognizing
the metrics for use, focus on should we able to do this and not looking at the project
selection methods.

The project management made tremendous strides over last 10 years and now-a-days, the
project is not based on manual process while it is based on advanced technology. Past 10
years ago, mobile technology is not used for enabling of better communication as well as
collaboration among the team members. I have also analyzed that now-a-days, project
management software such as MS project is used for schedule the project plan based on
various factors to prevent from any deadline miss.
The project manager is working to manage portfolios and they are not just based on
individual project. The organization is looking for such project manager those have
credentials and better certifications in addition to career opportunities into the project
management.
There is a shift into leadership of the project manager which changes the entire processing
of a project work. Now, the project manager takes of changing position into the workplace to
mitigate any challenges into the project. They are focused on project leadership instead of
implementing of project processes.

innovation in addition to work efficiency is
always the key requirement of the project
work. There are some ways to improve
efficiency into the work for better
completion of the work.
In order to increase efficiency into the project work, both communication as well as trust is

commitment as well as priority levels. I have put my efficiency on progress of the project.
