AI Summary
This portfolio assignment, submitted by a student for PPMP20012, focuses on how project management (PM) application systems can lead to effective PM knowledge management and decision-making. The assignment requires a description of the impact of application systems on decision-making through knowledge management, drawing on readings from SEBoK, AS/NZS 15288, and other resources. The student reflects on the readings, addresses key questions about application systems, inhibitors, knowledge management processes, and effective decision-making, and integrates insights from prior learning and experience. The portfolio also includes references to supporting documentation and study materials, such as Moodle, SEBoK, and YouTube videos, to support the development of a project management plan. The student aims to provide insights into the relationship between application systems, knowledge management, and decision-making within the context of project management, emphasizing the importance of making appropriate decisions based on the information collected to ensure project success and risk mitigation.

Describe how the use of
project management
(PM) application
systems can lead to
effective PM knowledge
management and
decision making.
The objective of this week’s topic is to describe how the use of applications
systems impact and realise effective decision making through knowledge
management. I have deliberately underlined certain section in the previous
sentence. You might like to compare this week’s topic with last week’s topic.
They are similar, but for the emphasis on describing the use of applications
systems and knowledge management. Last week we investigated some
application systems, notably those from SAP, Oracle, IBM and Microsoft. This
week you are trying to describe how they influence knowledge management
and particularly decision making. The importance of decision making is of
preeminent significance. If we are not going to decide, then what are we doing?
The whole point of project management is to plan what we want to do. Then
monitor and control that we’re doing what we want. If anything deviates from
our goal, then we apply our knowledge to make decisions and get things back on
track! So, ask yourself and reflect on:
What are application systems? To answer this question, you might like to go
to your reflections last week?
The terminology of the application system can be given as the arrangement of
the project as per the project management plan for proper execution of the
project work. These are the techniques that are mentioned for the execution of
the project to be done in a proper manner. A proper outcome or suggestion will
be provided by the system application so that the project can be lead towards
success.

Management vs.
Project
Management?
What is the problem or inhibitors to project realisation?
The threats can also be termed as advantages as because due to that read only
the betterment of the project can be done. This can also be called inhibitors in
the project as because in absence of any danger, the dangers cannot be found in
the project and the stakeholders would not have been done the realization of
the dangers in the project.
What do the application systems need to do?
System application will be charged for doing the provision of a proper solution
to the identified dangerous in the organization with the aim to lead the project
was successful (SEBoK, 2017). In every situation whenever a problem occurs in
the project, the system will be to provide a solution for mitigating the risk.
How does knowledge management help in this process?
The main objective that the system application will provide a risk management
for the identified risk in the project, the obtained techniques can be helpful in
administering the data (Sebokwiki, 2017). Safe and protected information and a
solution are required to be developed so that the project can be developed
properly.
What do we need to be in place to make effective decisions?
The proper identification of the system so that the most appropriate choice can
be made in the project so that all the dangers that are present in the project can
be solved accordingly (AS/NZS 15288, 2015). Before the project initiation stage,
all the changes are required to be identified and then they are required to be
solved so that the execution work of the project can be done properly.

In this week’s readings and material, you’ll find answers to these questions.
In this portfolio please reflect on the readings (1st column) and the learning
outcome (2nd column). Ask yourself in what way does the readings provide
insights into the learning outcome? Maybe they don’t! What are your
thoughts?
The study materials that are present that are provided by them are required to
be made use of in the project containing information regarding the Moodle,
SEBoK, and the YouTube for doing the development of a project. The project
management plan is required to be utilized in the project so that the most
appropriate decision can be taken in the project.
Are there other insights that you can make from other units that you have
studied? Or your work and life experience?
In order to make a decision that will be the most suitable and appropriate for
the organization of the information that is collected from the project designing
of the portfolio along with the structuring of the communicating, engineering,
strategic, and the communicating methodology are required to be carried out in
the project.
