Report
AI Summary
This project management report provides a detailed analysis of a project's various aspects, including task breakdown, schedule management, risk assessment, and quality control measures. It begins by classifying projects into manufacturing, management, and civil engineering types, followed by outlining key steps in project scope statements. A Gantt chart illustrates the project's timeline, calculated to be 22 days, with specific start and end dates for each task. Critical success factors, such as cost and schedule variance, are discussed, along with the importance of deliverable acceptance and stakeholder feedback. The report emphasizes risk management, detailing the process of risk identification, analysis, evaluation, and treatment. Finally, it addresses quality control, highlighting project evaluation parameters and monitoring activities to ensure adherence to quality standards. Project Management
Task 1
Answer 1
The projects are usually classified in three types as manufacturing projects, management
projects, and civil engineering projects. Manufacturing projects are the ones in which the aim
of the project team to is to manufacture a product, such as machine, tool, or other equipment.
Development of an aircraft is a manufacturing project. Management projects are the ones that
involve organization, handling, and managerial activities for the company. Restructuring of
an organization or migration to a new system are some of the management projects. The third
category is civil engineering projects that include industrial on-site projects. The construction
of a new building is an example of civil engineering project.
Answer 2
The key steps in the scope statement of the project shall include the project activities that will
be carried out by the project team members and the project activities that will not be carried
out by the members of the project team. These shall be highlighted in the sections as in-scope
and out-of-scope items. The project scope shall be defined on the basis of the project
requirements and the project constraints, limitation, and assumptions must also be included in
the scope statement (Wearne, 2014).

Answer 4
There are a lot of factors that are involved in the success of the project. The project can be
termed as successful only when the associated factors are fulfilled and monitored. Some of
the critical success factors include cost variance and schedule variance. The project is
assigned with an estimated cost and schedule. The cost and schedule of the project must not
exceed the estimated value. The cost and schedule variance shall be zero or shall have a
positive value to mark the project as successful (Wang, He and Zhao, 2014). There are
specific deliverables that are associated with a project. The acceptance on these deliverables
and the sign-offs from the project stakeholders shall be provided for project success.
Feedback of the resources, performance reviews, and feedback from the customers shall also
be positive to term the project successful.
Answer 5
Risk assessment and management in the project is covered as one of the essential project
areas under every project management methodology. It is because a project is exposed to
numerous risks during its timeline. The risk management strategy shall include the
management of the risks in phases. The first step shall be the identification of the risks based
on the information collected from the data sources of the project. The risks listed and

identified shall then be analysed using qualitative and quantitative techniques for determining
the risk probability and impact levels (Kim et al., 2016). The evaluation and prioritization of
the risks shall be done in the next step. The fourth step shall be treatment of the risk by
mapping them with the strategies as mitigation, acceptance, avoidance, sharing, or transfer.
Risk monitoring, control, and closure shall be done in the subsequent steps.
Answer 6
In order to ensure that the project is designed and carried out as per the quality standards,
there will be project evaluation, control, and monitoring activities carried out. The evaluation
will include the parameters as cost variance, schedule variance, acceptance of deliverables,
and feedback. Monitoring and control will be done with the use of reviews, audits, and
inspection processes. The improvement areas and status of adherence to the quality levels
will be maintained and ensured through these methods. There will also be verification and
validation activities conducted to make sure that the project quality is maintained.
